This Caturday... Get ready for a Game Changer!
Get ready for a Game ChAAHHHHHHH!!!
you know it rules when you can imagine it on ally beardsley
i'd love to see them try to play brennan off with music
Had a dream last night that I bought tickets to see Dimension 20 perform live. I spent the whole dream trying to get there, dealing with stupid silly dream things like driving my car which for some reason was an eighteen-wheeler, petty thieves, and a dog that kept trying to eat my arm. I finally get to the theater. The show starts. The Intrepid Heroes and Brennan come on stage. I'm so excited. Two minutes into the show, there's a weird magician's stunt with a poof of smoke. The stage is gone. The show is over? The D20 members are all confused. Someone says, "check the TV!" We do. Sam Reich is on TV, introducing an episode of Game Changer, saying the entire D20 live show was a ruse, that the whole point was to get them to New York for this week's new game: a rat race where the first person who gets back to the studio in LA wins Game Changer. The catch? Their bank accounts have all been frozen. Brennan is pissed. Lou immediately starts running. Zac sits in the audience with the fans, clearly not in a rush. Emily, Murph, and Siobhan seem only mildly inconvenienced and walk out together, trash-talking Sam.
I woke up after that, and I'm disappointed I'll never know who won.
GET READY FOR A GAAAAAME CHANGERRRR
where would we be as a society without @samreich and his impish unbridled glee

presenting a new little social series i call "behind the clip."
"sam says 3: don't flinch" was our third time doing a "don't flinch," and needed to build on the other two times (my screaming; little me's popping out of podiums).
i had originally wanted a dummy me to fall from the ceiling, but thought that was too ambitious, so instead pitched to ash that me "snakes in a can" should launch at our players from the sidelines.
as it turns out, snakes from a can don't launch very far.
i then pitched ash plan A as plan B, and ash thought it was very achievable.
the final rig is merely a cloth bundle and rope, triggered from backstage. it looked lighting-related.
ash's cue was my "moving right along," which is why i say it so loudly.
in the edit, we collapsed down vic, jacob, and lou's lines to be rapidfire, when the truth is we spend a full minute recovering from this.
it is one of a handful of game changer moments when i've wondered if i've really gone too far -- and one of my favorites in the series.
This past week I had the honor of walking the runway at the 10th Anniversary Her Universe Fashion Show at San Diego Comic Con. To celebrate the history of the show, former winners of the competition (myself included) were given the opportunity to create a new look to wear on the runway. I knew I wanted to design something that was filled to the brim with joy. Immediately and without question, the wild and wonderful game show Game Changer was the first thing that came to mind. My partner introduced me to the show this spring, at a time in our lives when what we needed was unadulterated joy, laughter, kindness, and love. And boy, does this show deliver in spades. There are so many reasons why I love this show, from the extraordinary on-screen talent who always shocks, surprises, and delights me with their wit and quick thinking, to the sincerity with which the cast truly cares about each other. But more than anything, what I love about the show (and all of Dropout's shows) is the outstanding art department. It is rare to see a company put so much faith in artists and their weird wonderful sensibilities, and the way the sets and props are integrated and highlighted in the show is a thrill. Some of my favorite episodes (Beat the Buzzer, Escape the Greenroom) involve elaborate design work that makes my heart full and my imagination soar. As an interdisciplinary weirdo myself, to see such celebration of art in all its forms is a triumph. I wanted to pay homage to the incredible aesthetic of the show with this design. The pants feature the iconic loop-de-loop set pieces, which I individually patterned and sewed together with metallic lamé fabric interfaced within an inch of its life. The top references the colorful podium arches, also hand-drafted metallic lamé fabric featuring a hidden interior corset. I had a blast 3D rendering the buzzer ring in Fusion360 and 3D printing the components (there’s a hidden LED panel built into the base that I harvested from a tap light). And the scoreboard sunglasses were drafted in Illustrator and laser cut! Oh, and there’s a hidden loop-de-loop on my golden shrug. You know, for immunity. Thanks to everyone at Game Changer and Dropout for bringing so much joy to the world at a time when we need it most. You fill so many people’s hearts with light and laughter. I had an incredible time at the show reconnecting with old friends and making new ones, and meeting so many fellow Game Changer fans as a result! Thanks forever to Ashley Eckstein for founding the Her Universe Fashion Show, and for putting geek couture on the map!

I propose the dropout version of an egot: the gumd - someone who has won game changer, um actually, make some noise and dirty laundry
Some quick info for those curious!
- Brennan has won Game Changer and Make Some Noise (in fact, he won the original Make Some Noise episode S1E2), and he has won Um, Actually (e.g. S6E3) but was only on Dirty Laundry once (S1E4) and did not win his episode. Brennan's at 3 of 4.
- Ify has actually not been on Make Some Noise yet! He has won Um, Actually (e.g. S3E8) and Dirty Laundry (S2E4). Sam counted all three players as winners in the Jeopardy episode of Game Changer (S3E7), so that brings Ify to 3 of 4.
- Zac has won Game Changer (S4E3), Um, Actually (S3E12), Make Some Noise (3 way tie in S2E1), and Dirty Laundry (tied with Beardsley in S3E1)! Zac has a GUMD.
Some other candidates:
- Vic, Jacob, and Anna Garcia all haven't been on Um, Actually yet.
- Ross has won Make Some Noise (S2E3), Game Changer (S5E5), and Um, Actually (tie in S8E10), but didn't win his Dirty Laundry episode (S2E9).
- Izzy has won Make Some Noise (S2E9), Game Changer (three-way tie in S5E4), and Um, Actually (S7E2), but didn't win her Dirty Laundry episode (S1E6).
