i’m still not over the edge article saying that while playing veilguard you can, for example, bump into neve in docktown and she’s just independently out solving a case. this is maybe the funniest approach to companions they’ve ever done.

the veilguard squad may have released two ancient gods into the world in their quest to stop a completely different ancient god but they’ll be damned if that keeps them from their 9-5

the actual reason you can only have two companions in the party at once this time is that whenever you’re like “hey is everyone still up for the final battle to save thedas” in the groupchat they’re all like sorryyyy :( i have a shift tonight you know how it is

Text reads: "Busche: "It's one of my favorite topics. I talked about the idea that these are fully realized characters, that they're very authentic and relatable. So outside of combat, what that means is they're going to have their own concerns, fears, distractions, and indeed, even their own sanctuaries, their own personal spaces. In our base of operations this time, our player hub, the Lighthouse, each of the companions has their own room. And what I love about it is it becomes a reflection of who they are. The more time you spend with them, as the game develops as you work through their arc, their room and their personalities will evolve and flourish and become more complete as they trust you more and you understand them better."

The companions each have their own personal rooms inside the Lighthouse. 🥺 These spaces reflect who they are and change over time, becoming more complete the more they develop trust and understanding with Rook.

A similar setup is also in the cellar in Skyhold

[ID: A series of images from Spongebob of Patrick trying and failing to find the lid of a jar in front of him. Edited on text reads: “Now put it in the game.” it repeats: “No, the game” each time Patrick gets it wrong. End ID]
