More Signs from the Inside

Mark Darrah has dished out some more tidbits about Dragon Age 4.  And they are very interesting!

The first image was what looks like a reference sheet for character or culture designs.

Looking at the pictures up close and personal is even more revealing.

Is it just us Wyrds or is the woman in these images a dead ringer for Cassandra?  The designs almost seem Romanesque save for the skull headdress on the second figure.  All of this together makes us think these designs might be Navarran.

We don’t have a lot of reference art for Navarrans, but the third armor is vaguely reminiscent of Tessa’s outfit from Magekiller.

Next we have what appear to be some darker Grey Wardens…Tevinter style?

The helmet looks the same.

(I, Morta, would love it if they turned out to be from the Anderfels.  I really want to know what in the Void is going on at Weisshaupt.  But they are probably Tevinter.  Probably.)

On the top right we have some very exciting figures.

Sure looks like there will be a murder of Crows in the next game.

(Zevran!!!  We need more of you!)

The middle line felt more familiar, but with some twists.

The figures on the middle left appear to be geared for desert travel, invoking a definite Arabian vibe.

The Anderfels is largely desert might we hope for some Ander action?  They could also represent clothing styles from the Tevinter border near the Anderfels.

The next set is very Tevinter, even Venatori -ish.

Then there are these curious figures.  Very Tevinter lines, with the figures in purple perhaps being aides of the Archon?

I don’t know…  Radonis dresses in green, but something about the hat looks akin to Radonis’ bodacious bonnet.

And we have Qunari!  Or are they Tal-Vashoth?  Naw, I think Qunari.  The bottoms are very interesting.  They look almost like clothes from Fuedal Japan or a hakama.

image

Perhaps they are members of the priests of the Ariqun?

The bottom line starts with some familiar faces…and designs.

Several of these are designs we have seen before.

Here we have Dalish on the left, ancient elvhen on the right.  Makes sense given Solas’ plans.  And God pants!

More Qunari designs come next.  I hope we go to Saheron!  Or Par Vallen!  I’m sure I’m not the only one who wants to see Arishok-Sten again.

The last figures on the page Darrah tweeted appear to be dwarven women, but with a different, perhaps more rugged look than we saw in Orzammar.  I would love these figures to be from Kal-Sharok, but they could also be Tevinter surface dwarves.  Time will tell…

The Dalish in all of us probably squeed a bit at the next image Mark Darrah tweeted.  The images are, of course, the tarot cards for a Dalish female or male Inquisitor.  Elvhen rising??

And the final image was the most enigmatic.  What is it?

Is it a figure?  It is a tower?  A signal beacon?  The background looks like hills…  What do you think, folks?  I’m going to keep pondering and see if anything shakes loose in a day or two (used to image search all the reference books I have).

Obviously Mass Effect is the center of everyone’s attention right now, but dare we hope that a DA4 announcement might be waiting in the wings??  E3 anyone?

Tell us what you see and think, DA fandom!  What do you see in these signs from the inside?
