Star Wars Rebels had an entire episode dedicated to the co-existence of the Jedi alongside other Force traditions.

From Legends of the Lasat:

Ezra: The Ashla? Chava the Wise: The spirit of the galaxy. Ezra: Sounds like the Force. Kanan: The Force has many names, Ezra. Chava the Wise: And it is through your Force, our Ashla, that the prophecy comes...

When they unexpectedly meet more Lasat survivors, one of whom is a wise woman, Kanan takes this opportunity to teach his padawan that theirs is not the only way to experience the Force; so when Ezra seeks Kanan's permission to participate in the Lasat ritual, he grants it.

Kanan and Ezra later assist Zeb in channeling the Force/Ashla as he leads them through the star cluster.

Kanan, a temple-raised Jedi, was open to this other Force tradition, and he both participated in it and encouraged his padawan to do so, too, deferring to the Lasat for whatever needed to be done. By doing this, the Jedi were able to support Zeb as he moved from fear to faith (from unbelief to belief within his own belief system) and as he found hope and healing among his people.

For this and for so many other reasons, it’s a really beautiful episode.

STAR WARS REBELS APPRECIATION WEEK: Day #4 - Favorite Season

As hard as it was to choose a season, it was easy to realize why the first one means so much to me. Season one feels like home. It's familiar; it's warm; it's uplifting. It showed all the potential in the settings, the characters, their dynamics, and overarching story that ultimately was delivered in its finale. There's so much heart and spirit in this season's beginnings that exemplified what Star Wars should be at its core. Thank you to the creative team that worked on this show and Happy 10th Anniversary, Star Wars Rebels. 🫶

STAR WARS REBELS APPRECIATION WEEK Day 4: Favorite Season

For once, we have an easy answer.

Continuing from a colossal cliffhanger at the end of Season 2, this season saw the Ghost crew tested in new ways across the board as the Rebellion grew into a stronger and more unified front against the Empire. At the same time, the threat of the Empire took on a whole new dimension with the introduction and re-canonization of the iconic Grand Admiral Thrawn, while the shadow of Darth Maul loomed over everything.

While I can't say that every episode of Season 3 was amazing, none of them were bad in any way, and the best of this season hit it out of the park. Even the weaker episodes like Iron Squadron latter paid off down the road. And again, this season had some of my all-time favorite episodes of the whole show. Trials of the Darksaber, Through Imperial Eyes, Steps into Shadow, Twin Suns, and a phenomenal nail-biting finale in Zero Hour. I could gush about these for hours.

But probably what I love the most about this season is the character development, as we see almost every main character grow and change over the course of these episodes. We see Ezra and Kanan recovering from the events of Malachor, the former struggling with the dark side while the latter regaining his confidence following his blinding (again, reinforcing how important their relationship with each other is). Hera's family history comes back in force with Hera's Heroes, reuniting with her father and setting her up to be the spearhead against Thrawn in Season 4 and the Ahsoka show. Speaking of family drama, Sabine's character goes through some tremendous growth with the Mandalorian subplot, with developments that turned her from a character I liked into one of my absolute favorites. Zeb and Chopper may not have had super important stories to themselves, but they were still especially fun this season, with Double Agent Droid being one of the murderbot's finest hours. The villains also had plenty of moments to shine. Kallus's redemption was a major highlight of the season, Thrawn's triumphant return couldn't have been better, and Maul's story that had been going on since his resurrection comes to a close in a way that I found incredibly satisfying.

To close out my thoughts here, the best way I can describe the overarching character work in Season 3 is that it is a perfect echo of what Obi-Wan warned about in his recording to the survivors of Order 66. "We will each be challenged- our trust, our faith, our friendships, but we must persevere, and in time, a new hope will emerge." it is therefore only appropriate that the season that saw our heroes persevering through these exact challenges concluded (almost) with an appearance of the man himself, an old hermit in the desert watching over that new hope.

If any season of this show encapsulates Star Wars Rebels, this is it.
