I don't feel like Orion trying to stop D-16 from killing Sentinel was because Orion felt like Sentinel deserved to live. I mean, he crashed an entire train into the guy just minutes before.

Imagine you have a chill best friend who is the voice of reason between the two of you, but he goes through a trauma that turns him into a roiling pit of rage. You keep reaching out to him and he keeps shoving you away. He is suddenly getting fusion cannon boners from beating the shit out of potential allies, and you have to beg him not to blow said ally's head off. Your friend frames this restraint as "the last time I will show mercy."

When Orion says "Don't be like Sentinel", I don't think he means "Um, have you considered that ACTUALLY this is not The Proper Way to change the government?", I think he means "You are losing yourself and it's scaring me and it's hurting you."

He was not trying to save Sentinel, he was trying to save D-16.

The Folded City

It's implied that Iacon is the only cybertronian city where the cybertronians live, and it is underground. But we also see those ruins that the four travelers find up on the surface, so what if there were other cities, the Quintessons destroyed them, and then Primus hid Iacon underground to protect its remaining citizens?

Also, what if the buildings that hang from the ceiling of the underground weren't always on the ceiling? What if Iacon used to be twice as wide, and then when the planet hid it, it folded it over so half of the buildings were now upside down like the stalactites of the cave it now inhabited?

Imagine that day: The inhabitants are minding their own business, and then suddenly half of the city begins to sink downward into the ground. At the same time, the other half slowly begins to tip to the side. Bots frantically rush into buildings to keep from falling to their doom as the streets shift, fliers grabbing the arms of their neighbors as they begin to slide down rapidly steepening slopes. Ceilings become the floor, floors become the ceiling, and the sub-levels of the buildings are the only thing grounding them into what is now the roof of a massive cavern.

Within just hours, perhaps even minutes, their entire city is underground, and half of its citizens are going to need help getting down...
