I’m gonna be real, I’m mostly posting this so I can keep track of what I’ve already recced, but maybe someone else will find it useful too. ;)

Whoops! I was so busy last week I neglected to do a fic rec! But we’re back on track this week.
This Week: The Adventures of Ten-Magnus

Continuity: G1 (IDW)
Main char(s): Ten, Brainstorm, Ultra Magnus
Plot: At Ultra Magnus’ command, Brainstorm obligingly creates a holomatter form for Ten. And it’s identical to Ten’s idol, Ultra Magnus--except for the smile, of course. Hijinks ensue!
This week: “Do We Not Bleed”

Continuity: Transformers Prime
Main char(s): Optimus Prime, Megatron, Silas
Plot: MECH becomes more of a threat than either the Autobots or Decepticons can afford to ignore.
This week: “History’s Gonna Change”

Continuity: Rescue Bots and Beast Wars
Main char(s): Cody Burns and Dinobot II
Plot: A boy and a velociraptor fall down a hole in the woods. There is no punchline, only glorious characterization.
This is a very short but well-written fic, and it’s really nice to see a Beast Wars character in a fic.
This week: “The Hidey-Hole”

Main char(s): Breakdown, Knock Out
Plot: Breakdown just needs to get away from the world sometimes, and that’s what his makeshift hidey-hole is for. Friendship, followed by angst. 8)
Short, sweet, and complete!
This week: Reboot

Continuity: G1 (Sunbow cartoon)
Main char(s): Starscream, Thundercracker, Skywarp, the Aerialbots
Plot: An invention turns the Decepticons and the Autobots into humans, Starscream’s jet trine heads off on their own, and they end up in an awkward friendship of sorts with the Aerialbots.
This fic is incomplete and hasn’t been updated in a long time, but hopefully one day the author will finish it. But even if they don’t, it is well worth the ride!
“Transformers-turned-human” fics are usually not my thing, but this fic drew me in by avoiding all the usual tropes and presenting a unique plot that’s driven logically based on the way the canon G1 bots thought and acted. That is to say, the G1 world is expanded and improved upon, yet at the same time it all feels natural.
Excerpt:
"Did you gamble away your pants," Starscream demanded. Thundercracker just glared. Skywarp had one job -to get the Aerialbots to like him. It wasn't like he had Thundercracker's impossible job, to lie or tell the truth about leaving Megatron, whichever it turned out to be.
