I’m having a situation over how Jin Guangyao’s modes constantly flip between “disarming smile” and “performance anxiety” (in both meanings of that phrase! – how much of it is an act, and how this ratio changes over time and depending on who the act is for)
I’m also having a situation over how much he seems to genuinely like/respect/want the approval of Lan Xichen, even as he continually lies to him. god, what a mess.

(His role is very small in NIF, due to the plot turning him into (actor) Hu Ge, but he does have a couple of nice scenes)
If you want your head to REALLY explode with crossover madness, here’s Zhou Zishu wearing the famous Nie-robe fabric in Legend of Yun Xi. That Nie Mingjue sure does get around!

So a short note about Gusu Skating Complex - it is a full complex, equipped with facilities such as a running track, a gym, a pool, physiotherapy rooms, dance studios, etc. So the rule is that you should not be running in the Cloud Recesses Skating Hall, bc that area is for skating! if you need to do off-ice warmups, you can head down to the running track, or use one of the warm-up rooms next door. It is Gusu after all, everything has its place.

We talk a lot about Nie Mingjue’s Da-ge energy (valid and true) but we don’t often talk about how immediately and thoroughly Lan Xichen brothers Wei Wuxian?
First meeting: BAM. Look at that fond ass look. Xichen’s like, ‘This kid is funny as hell and I can tell my brother is perplexed by his feelings, I’m thinking a summer wedding.’
Already making excuses for him and leaves it up to Wangji to decide punishment and not his Uncle.
Later, at the lake, Wei Wuxian is like ‘I knew Wangji’s boat had evil kelp on it cause it was heavy and stuff.’
Lan Xichen: Good catch, kid.
Wei Wuxian’s reaction?
This lil’ gifted, low self-esteem, ADHD 16 year old is glowing. BROTHER’D.
Later, when Wei Wuxian is like ‘I TOLD YOU THE PUPPETS AND THE LAKE SHIT WERE CONNECTED.’
