“I’m sorry it’s come to this.” But her face didn’t hold much sentiment, nor did she lower her weapon. “But you knew what you were getting into. You can’t keep living your life pretending there are no consequences for all the shit you pull.”
She was my consequence, then. I struggled to find a way out of this one. All I could do was stall. “Well where’s the fun in that?”
Before I figured what it was I got a great writing prompt idea:
Imagine how much less crime might be committed if they could see that “assault” charge was followed by the sentence “punched a McDonald’s employee when they told me the ice cream machine was broken”
