(Slams door open) So! Yall still writing COVID19 shit for your salt despite how INSENSITIVE it is?! (Loads prompt gun) Fine. I'm gonna shoot y'all in the feels. (Takes aim)
Due to the rampant spread of COVID19 throughout Europe (as it is one of the major hotspots), France is essentially shut down. There are still people on the streets shopping for minor things (or not because honestly, people are stubborn :p) but Paris is absolutely taken by fear.
But no one more is more afraid than Adrien Agreste.
Ever since the first few cases were confirmed, he was put on lockdown. He was taken out of school without warning, and essentially locked in his room for the past 3 weeks.
Father claimed it was for his own safety. But he figured out by Day 3 it wasn't. Suddenly, there were blocks on his computer (Nathalie said Father didn't want him to stress over the outbreak) and his phone had disappeared around Day 5. And when he tried sneaking out to help Ladybug, he found the windows welded shut. Too risky to destroy those.
Fear. Fear took him over. It gripped his heart and all he could do was curl up in a corner and stare outside.
Twenty-One. Twenty-One days- No. It had been Twenty-Two now, Someone just slid breakfast through a gap in the door. (For his protection. Social Distancing was the best thing to do without a cure).
He looked out the window at Paris's empty sky line. Ladybug had stopped appearing over Paris around Day 15 for her own safety (that's what he had guessed, anyways, he had no clue since the TV 'stopped working' around Day 7)
He smelled cheese. Plagg. He stood up, legs aching as he grabbed the plate and looked around for the Kwami.
Sure enough, Plagg floated out of the bathroom, sniffing hungrily. When he saw Adrien's face however, he shook his head. "Kid. No. You have to eat, too."
Adrien shook his head, a sad smile on his face, putting the plate down and retreating back to his corner. Plagg's tail dropped. Adrien had stopped eating around Day 18: The same day he stopped talking.
Plagg floated away from the dish, plopping down next to Adrien instead. That seemed to get his attention, until he turned away, resting his head against the wall.
Suddenly, the door opened. Plagg hid among the pillows as Adrien looked back.
"Adrien." Father appeared, hands behind his back and looking as intimidating as ever. His voice was hollow, but it had the slightest tinge of emotion.
Adrien stood up and turned around, the slightest glimmer of hope in his eyes. "...Yes, Fathe-"
"I have received news that the virus is spreading exponentially fast. Faster than anyone has been anticipating. Paris's lockdown will be in affect for another 3 months."
Adrien's expression shifted to that of disbelief. He looked down at the floor and nodded. "Ok... Thank you for telling me, Father..."
Father's expression seemed to shift as well. The tiniest of frowns appeared. "Adrien... I didn't want to bring this up, but... One of your classmates was among the new cases today."
Horror appeared on Adrien face. "W-Which one?! Please tell me-"
"It is not of your concern, Adrien. I know this is hard. It's for our own safety right now." Before Adrien could try to argue, Father had swiftly left, the door slamming and echoing.
Adrien stood there. He stood there, frozen. He stood there so long, the sun had set, leaving him in pitch black.
And he sobbed. He sobbed and dropped to his knees.
Day 22... was when Adrien gave up
