. . .
You sit at a table amongst your friends and some of your husband’s sidekicks. You kept a pleasant conversation going with Ochako who sat on the other side of you, letting Izuku talk with his colleagues since you weren’t really helpful when it came to hero stuff. You were a secretary at a prestigious hero museum, and while you adored working with your fair share of heroes on the job, you were never really qualified to be one yourself. Your quirk was unique, but while being able to grow tiny flowers on your skin was aesthetically pleasing to the eye it wasn’t necessarily helpful when faced against a villain.
You met Izuku at your work when you were both still in high school. You were only working part-time back then but the easily-flustered green-haired boy just so happened to come during your hours. You were drawn to him straight away, but you always did have a thing for shy boys so you can’t say it came as a surprise when you asked if he’d come to see you again anytime soon.
You remember the meek boy turning into a blubbering mess, red as a beet with a bashful smile as he babbled. So with smiling lips, you exchanged numbers and promised to get a coffee sometime. These little meet-ups turned into weekly dates as you spent more and more time getting to know one another. You learned about his dream to become a hero, the crazy things he’d been going through as a first-year at U.A. and his admiration for the freshly-retired—at the time—symbol of peace.
Fast forward to now, you were the proud wife of Japan’s number one hero, and quite honestly bored out of your mind. Placing your wine glass down on the table, you turn slightly and take Izuku’s arm, pressing his arm to your chest and resting your cheek on his shoulder. His green eyes wandered to yours for a moment with a blush. He offered you a timid smile before returning his attention to his colleagues.
You held in your disappointed sigh, though your face contorted into a small pout at his lack of acknowledgment. Though what really ticked you off was the way he perked up at something Ochako said. You didn’t mean to be bitter, but you couldn’t help but feel ignored. You attempted to add to their conversation a few times, only for all openings to be closed off as they drifted to the topic of hero work again.
Giving up on verbal communication entirely, you pressed yourself closer to your husband. Izuku froze up when you briefly kissed his freckled cheek, your nimble fingers tangling with his own beneath the table. His green eyes darted around the table, and he attempted to hide his blush behind his glass as he took in a sip of his drink. You felt your heart flutter in delight when his scarred hand squeezed around your own in response, the pad of his thumb brushing over your knuckles.
It prompted you to plant a quick peck to his lips, eliciting a squeaky gasp from Izuku and a few chuckles from your friends. The green-haired hero flushed under their amused gazes, rubbing the back of his neck as stuttered.
“Y/N…” Izuku whispered so only you could hear, no doubt a warning or rather a plea for you to behave yourself. “We’re still in public.”
“What? Am I not allowed to kiss you?” You raised a brow, put off by his sudden shyness. It’s not as if your relationship was something you kept under wraps, why was he getting embarrassed? You were his wife.
Part 2? Even though they didn’t break up, who knows if Midoriya would keep his word.
(Either way this was written reall good!)
