Well, Gabriel wasn't a chosen, so it makes sense that he wouldn't have much in common with Nooroo. As for Wayzz with Nino and Fu, I think it may have something to do with attitude. both are *generally* incredibly chill people. They're also very quick to protect (also generally because bad writing sort of destroyed that) like with Nino repeatedly trying to protect his friends (Alya, Marinette, and Adrien) and Fu's attempt to go to fight HM before he realized he wasn't in any state to.
No one’s saying that there isn’t a chemistry between kwami and the characters chosen, we’re talking about coding.
You know, like how in anime the Green Haired character is the Green Magical Girl
Or how the Power Rangers walked around in their civilian life in “their” characters.
Guess which one SHE is
Look, this isn’t a big deal, it’s just a thing I noticed. At first the coding was really subtle and easily overlooked - Marinette wears polka dots, but they’re small and usually concealed whereas Adrien wears black but not like a lot of black. So I looked for ways to link the civilians to their superheros and the consistent thing was their eyes. Marinette and Tikki had blue eyes, Adrien and Plagg had green eyes. I thought it was cute/clever subtle coding to have the kwamis and chosens share eye colors.
But for the others, they did different coding which is where it gets confusing. There’s a reason everyone and their mom predicted Chloe getting the Bee, but only a few actually thought Alya would get the Fox (most people were just hoping). Because of coding. On the one hand, Alya is more in line with Marinette and Adrien because her coding was secretive and not in your face (her orange top isn’t even solid orange c’mon) but they went with even LESS coding for her because she doesn’t have the same eye color as Trixx. (seriously I would’ve loved for Rena Rouge to also have purple eyes)
On the other hand, Chloe. I mean, LOOK at her - The Yellow, The Stripes, The Eye Color Match. Hell, her bedroom has honeycomb patterns, it’s like they were beating us with a bat with her! She had a big flashing sign saying BEE MIRACULOUS USER ever since we learned that there was a bee.
And then there’s our outlier. Nino. Who not only has zero coding, but has wrong coding! The blue color, the giant eye, the pops of red? Everything about him says PEACOCK MIRACULOUS USER! But instead he got the turtle? Not saying anything bad about him being the turtle, but it is…confusing.
And that’s what it comes down to (as a little nitpick). It’s confusing. But it’s not like there aren’t advantages to avoiding coding - after all, if everyone went around in “their” colors then there wouldn’t be any fun in guessing which characters are going to get what miraculous because it would be too obvious. (As it is, the season 2-3 opening kinda ruined some of the fun for me). That’s why I thought them sticking to something initially overlooked, like eye color, could’ve been an easy alternative to making everyone dress like their superhero forms.
