Hi!! I have a question and wasnt sure if i should ask on the main tumblr but should i read chapter 1 of behind the pod before I read chapter 1 of season 2? Thanks so much for all you do!

Hello there! Ah! You just reminded me I have to make the reading guide for season 2!

So, here are the chapters in order you should read before starting chapter 1 of season 2:

1. Andreil -The Cabin - Colorado - directly follows the events of season 1. Gives a bit of insight into season 2, as well as illustrating the building relationship between Andrew and Neil. 

2. Seth - Miami, FL - We think this chapter is pretty important. It dives into Seth’s character more, show’s his upbringing and history, as well as explains why he is where he is today. Also follows another character that will show up quite frequently in Season 2. 

3. Andreil - Arizona - Ties up some loose ends following the last time both Andrew and Neil were in Arizona. This one isn’t crucial for season 2, but it will help answer questions about what happened to Neil’s apartment, etc!

4. Andreil - Chicago, IL - This follows the birth of Katelyn and Aaron’s baby! Has a bit of everything. Bella love, Andrew with a baby love, Neil interacting with Aaron, etc. It’s pretty important, only because then you’ll know whats been happening with the whole family and it’ll make more sense going into season 2. It also happens about a month or two before season 2 begins, so the season will be brought up in this chapter. This should be read last.

So the next few chapters happen during Season 2 (or the storylines align). 

Matt/Dan Columbia, SC (BTP Chapter 5), should be read before Chapter 4, Audio Notes #2

BTP Chapter 6 - Palmetto, SC (Seth/*Spoiler*) Should be before Chapter 8, Update 3/8/20!

It’s been too long since an update. Seth showed me what he has for the intro, and it’s exactly chilling enough for the case we’re following this season. So, here is a small clip from the new theme for season 2. More information will be released soon. Stay tuned. -A

A lot has been going on, so Season 2 has been very very slow-moving. I haven't posted here in a while and I’m trying to get my life back on track. But we hope to have things moving along much quicker now. No promises, but we’re trying and thank you all so much for being patient <3 

Anyway, this has been so emotionally draining to make this seasons theme song. Going through hundreds of clips to try and find something to fit this seasons narrative and weighing what is morally okay, and what isn’t, is really fucking hard. At the beginning of the theme song, we have a very haunting 911 call. We’re not sure if we’re going to keep it. Though it fits the fic and it is very harrowing, it’s still someone's trauma and something about using it as a clip for a fic feels wrong and out of place - despite the fact that the actual case turned out okay in the end. 

What are everyone’s thoughts on that? 

Just know that we are taking this all very seriously. Season 2 is gonna be fucking rough guys. Like rough, rough. And with every reference we use and everything that we put into the extra content like the theme song, please know that we are really taking into consideration ethics while doing it. So far everything used is very general. This isn’t like season 1. While we are so so so excited for you guys to dive into this shit storm with us, we also want to assure everyone that with every step we take, we are double and triple-checking. 

So, yeah???? This little clip can be picked apart. Strange Fruit by Billie Holiday is used on purpose. The news clip is on purpose. We’d love to hear your theories :)
