So Neil has been dying to let everyone know we have a new family member. We’ve been fostering him for the last few weeks and with Sir and King’s blessing, he’s officially part of the family.
Introducing, Madame Meowston Scratchypants Minyard-Josten (Mads for short). - A
Happy Father’s Day to Matthew Donovan Boyd for being the father of one Neil Abram Josten and keeping him alive before the job got passed down to Andrew.
That’s a really good question! So rendering is making an image in a 3-dimensional space. You can control lighting, environment, position, color - all of these things fairly simply and easily with these 3d models and figures. Whereas digital painting you’re working in a 2-dimensional space, on a fairly ‘flat’ surface. Imagine drawing something and having to erase whatever corrections you want to make. Now imagine taking a figure like... a barbie or action figure or something of that sort and repositioning them, turning their bodies underneath a light to see how it reacts to their forms.
Rendering and painting really comes down to 3D and 2D. Now with that being said, the word ‘render’ can be used for painting or drawing as well. Really it just means to ‘make’ or I think to give life to a piece of art. It’s very commonly used when it comes to realistic art.
But yeah lol. For myself, I create all of my paintings in a 3d space first, render them, then use those renders as reference for my paintings.
Here’s an example:
This is for a Hermione painting I’m working on:
The unrendered 3d figure and models:
The final render:
And here is the WIP painting (still not done yet), using that render as reference:
OOC: BTP, SETH AND DION CHAPTER! A bit about how Seth grew up and how his relationship with himself and Dion has evolved. In the grand scheme of the main story, this is actually pretty important and we advise everyone to read it before Chapter 8 drops. Hope y’all like it and heed the triggers in the Authors Notes! - The Creators
My full response is under the cut due to mentions of abuse:
It took me a bit to figure out how to respond to the interview Kathy Ferdinand gave to Riko Moriyama this morning. Yes, it was full of inaccuracies and slander. But, if I’m truly honest with myself, the worst part of the interview were the things that were true. That I now feel like I’m being forced to acknowledge trauma that I’ve kept to myself and a couple of trusted individuals is both horrifying and infuriating.
OOC: A BEHIND THE POD CHAPTER! We wanted to get something out to you guys tonight, but there was no way we’d be able to finish ch 2 in time. So, here this is! We hope you like a bit of Dan and Matt’s story ^^
