Lol I was just about to send you an ask about The Secret History but the other anon beat me to it. On the subject of reading, what sort of books do you think Sirius would have enjoyed? Love your writing, by the way.
Thank you so much for the compliment. Also, I’m always up for talking about books 😊
Ooh ok, I have given this loads and loads of thought- to the point where I’ve imagined his bookshelf.
It takes up an entire wall of his flat and is stacked to capacity.
For muggle books
There’s an entire shelf about motorcycles- books about the history of motorcycles , engine manuals, the Physics behind them, photography books of various models and maps of famous driving routes.
There’s a shelf of mystery novels and crossword books- his guilty pleasure because he loves solving things.
A shelf of character study novels- he enjoys reading people and this appeals to that side of him.
History books- he’s politically astute and has the tea on everybody and imo that’s grounded in a love for history.
Existential Philosophy books- So in character for him to question our purpose/ what this all means.
A folio of his sketches and a book of his terrible angsty/angry poetry- he has a creative side and boundless energy so he’s tried many hobbies.
Cookbooks- I just HC him as tyrannical, but excellent cook. He learned out of necessity and rebellion (his mother’s horror that a Black should cook for themselves) and ended up really enjoying it.
For magic books
Obscure branches of complex magic, advanced defence magic, advanced offensive magic (he has a dark side). Loads of transfiguration books and history books.
