Return by Fading into the background (COMPLETE) - Rated M
Nanao transferred out of the 8th a year after Yadomaru’s disappearance. Forty years later she returned as the 8th’s Fukutaicho. This is the story of how the 8th, and its Taicho and Fukutaicho, came to be who and what they are today.
(This is such a gradual, delightful and amazing development of Nanao and Shunsui’s relationship over the years. It’s truly perfectly written.)
When Life Gives You Lemons by Fading into the background (COMPLETE) - Rated M
Tired of a lackluster dating scene and the constant gossip of her co-workers, Nanao decides to bite the bullet and have a secret no strings attached relationship with her Taicho. Too bad Shunsui wants so much more. Can he convince her that having a real relationship would be worth the trouble or will their new friends with benefit status completely destroy everything they once had?
(Another good one with the perfect amount of smut, meaning lots and lots of course. And a good dose of angst too!)

But on the horizon, something looms… and she will have to sacrifice herself, yet again, to save those she loves.
(This was a great read. Byakuya is more than just an icicle, and Orihime is more than just a bubblehead. LOVED IT)

Nanao Fights With Shunsui
First of all, I know there’s some implication they’re possibly related, to which I say: Fake people, don’t care. I actually don’t think the timeline works for that, but whatevs. It doesn’t matter.
I have a lot of love for Nanao. If there were a Bleach character most like me in terms of looks and personality, it’s my sweet Nanao. In fact, Nanao is the picture on my Google account because she looks enough like me it won’t confuse anyone. Ahahaha.
There’s something very intimate to the whole way this was drawn. The hands covering hands. The way his eyes are constantly drawn to her. The strength both of them find in each other. This is one of those fights that one literally could not pull off without the other.
The description of Shunsui’s compassion flowing outward is one that has always struck me. Shunsui is more often than not used as a sort of comic relief, which is fine. Clearly though, there is much more to him. Nanao is realizing that he’s always been there for her in his own way. Together, both of them are stronger than they are apart. Shunsui literally and figuratively envelopes her with love and support, and it’s so beautiful.
