Bucky hummed to himself as he made breakfast, doing his best to move quietly around the kitchen. He normally only hummed along to the radio in his car, which you discovered during your date the night before, but he couldn’t help himself today. He was happy. He had a spring in his step he hadn’t realized was missing.

Tonight was the night. You were going out with Bucky Barnes. Excited for the date was a bit of an understatement. You may have told a few customers you had a date when they wished you a good day.

Mom's a biiiiiitch. It's sad to say that I can relate. My mother doesn't think that way but my dad's side of the family did/does. Grandma always told us we needed to marry rich and tried to dictate what type of person we could marry (aka certain races we weren't allowed to marry or we'd be cut from the will). We were all pushed to be doctors or engineers or lawyers. Imagine that part of the family's enthusiasm when they found out I wanted to be a librarian. I've already had my cry after watching Encanto, so I'm gucci(-ish)...

A dopey smile formed on your face more times than you could count. The tattoo artist was your dream come true. Someone who looked like they could destroy everything in their path, but treated you with such care.
