“I was really moved by the backstory given for Leia and Ben Kenobi in the series Obi-Wan Kenobi. The filling in of some their shared experiences, in my mind, made adult Leia’s reaching out for help to Obi-Wan through R2-D2 in A New Hope all the more poignant. This piece portrays two moments where Leia, and the Rebellion, needed the help of a trusted ally and friend. He did not let them down.”

Two days ago this was just Luke playing with his toy airplane that it was probably given to him by his uncle or aunt. Two days ago I would see this scene and I would have thought “That’s a nice cute scene. Luke likes airplanes like Anakin did”.

But from now on I will know that this was a gift from Obi-Wan and it just has a whole new meaning. Now I will watch this scene knowing that Obi-Wan worked really hard, probably for weeks to be able to afford this. Obi-Wan would watch Luke play with this and he would be reminded how much Luke is Anakin’s son. Then he will be reminded of all the times he flew with Anakin and what a great pilot he was.

Yeah thank you Disney. Because all I wanted was one more Star Wars scene to make me cry like I didn’t have 1582 already 🙄😒

I’m now obsessed with the concept of an ANH AU where Obi-wan survives and Leia just looks at him, hands on her hips, all “THIS was your rescue plan?! You sent a flyboy and a farmer after me?” And Obi-wan’s trying to bodily drag her into the Millenium Falcon “I met him in a bar he offered to help you’re the one that told me to make friends.” And Leia rolls her eyes “I meant friends your own age.”

Meanwhile Luke, trailing after them: “wait you guys know each other? That’s so not fair.”
