Girl with a pearl earring (2024)
practice, practice and practice. Practice your ideal self privately so that publicly you don’t fumble or feel awkward. Practice the way your ideal self walks, talks, lives, eats, everything even when you’re alone. Over time, your body will get so used to it that it will come to you naturally.
Me this summer <3
I’ve never felt a love this safe. This secure. This abundant. This pure. This passionate. This beautiful. Please don’t listen to people saying this type of love doesn’t exist. That these types of men don’t exist. They do. They truly do. This type of love rarely ever (if ever) finds you when you’re looking for it. This type of love comes when you’re so in love with yourself, you attract your better half. I couldn’t be more grateful for the introspection I did before I met him. I fell deeper in love with myself and the man of my dreams found me. Real, genuine, passionate, pure love does exist.
- Softy’s Guide to Acids -
Different Acids & what they’re good for
The Most Common:
Salicylic Acid – acne!!! But veryyyyy drying so if you have dry skin and acne be very careful (only spot treat) or use a gentler acid
Glycolic Acid – brightening, smoothing, lightening pigmentation, helps with fine lines, treats acne; pretty much good for most skin types
Hyaluronic Acid – moisture moisture moisture! Soft, plump skin – helps strengthen & protect the skin’s moisture barrier
Lactic Acid – v. gentle, good for those with dry & sensitive skin (has a moisturizing element because it’s derived from milk)
Ascorbic Acid – aka Vitamin C! Great for fine lines and brightening
Other less common acids:
Azelaic Acid – most commonly found in prescribed skin care treatments, good for inflammation, redness & bacterial acne
Citric Acid – antioxidant; good for those with who have early signs of aging and sun spots
Kojic Acid – a skin lightening agent that can often be very irritating
Linoleic Acid – a lighter version of Oleic acid, so its a much better moisturizer for people with oily skin
Lipolic Acid – a “universal antioxidant”, anti-aging, fights free-radicals
Malic Acid – gentle & good for clearing acne – so if you have acne-prone skin that’s too dry for salicylic acid, try this
Mandelic Acid – has the largest molecule of all AHAs meaning it penerates the skin slower so its suuuuuuper good for people with sensitive skin
Oleic Acid – a fatty acid found in oils like argan, and olive oil, creates a moisturizing seal, might be too moisturizing for people who don’t have dry skin
Tartaric Acid – smoothes skin texture
*DISCLAIMER : alwaysss patch test when trying a new product/acid because you don’t know how your skin will react – also, only try one new product at a time so you know exactly what product is giving you which reaction/result!
A calm, cool, and collected man that makes me melt & hush with his gentleness 🤝 me.
reminder:
- Working out 4x a week - I usually have a specified breakdown of what workouts to do and when but recently it’s been a little difficult to stick to a routine because my body needs different things on different days. But what I can commit to is doing some form of deliberate exercise 4 times a week no matter what. For me I’ll oscillate between: Pilates, walks with a 10k step minimum and weight training.
- Eating a diet high in fiber and protein - this is so crucial to having a toned body and glowing skin. Think chia puddings, salads, steaks, protein smoothies, eggs etc. Prioritize whole foods over processed foods !
- Skincare routine 2x daily- right now I’m prioritizing skin care and working on doing my full routine twice a day. This has changed my skin for the better and I’ll never go before to lazily doing a mediocre skin care routine once a day.
- Establish a hobby that builds your network and aids in your personal growth - right now I’m in helicopter flight training ! It’s absolutely invigorating and it’s a great conversation starter because it’s so unexpected . Find a hobby that resonates with you and pursue it relentlessly !
- Hairline prp 1x every 3-4 months - This is something new I got for the first time recently because I want my edges and thick and long as possible! I no longer wear any lace and overtime the wear and tear of the hot comb can be too much so I’m taking preventive measures!
- Quick weaves and quick weave maintenance every 2-4 weeks - I love quick weaves ! Especially quick weave bobs. My real hair is growing and it allows me to look polished on a daily. I like them more than sew ins because it’s way less tension
- Lashes every 2-3 weeks - keeping up with my lashes makes me feel my prettiest. I bought a lash care set on Amazon to thoroughly clean my lashes at home and it helps them look great and last long
- Matching sets for errands and day to day activities - this changed the game for me ! Looking put together at all times makes such a huge difference in life and opens up a world of opportunities! Sets are quick and easy because they don’t require much forethought
- Always read - I’m not going to put a number on it and say one book a month or week or so… Just make sure you always have a book to turn to so that all your free time isnt taken up with social media. Right now I’m reading a book about every two weeks but I’m taking my time and enjoying fiction
