Can someone please tell the Monster High and Rainbow High designers to stop giving the Black characters baby hairs

Like, I know yall are trying to flex on the fact that you did a few minutes of research of Black hairstyles on Pinterest, but it's literally not a requirement

Most of the time, they ugly as hell, please let it go-

I remember pointing out Clawdeen being lighter in G3 and people were saying "yeah cuz shes Latina now duh 🙄" never wanted to strangle someone so badly in my life

The day it gets through these guys’ heads that people from Latin America appear in a variety of skin tones, and races is the day we see pigs fly

PSA for Monster High fandom: Block these accounts(they are the same people)

This person likes to argue, engage, and bother everyone that makes so much of a small complaint of the new gen. Even if you like it for the most part

And yes, this especially includes posts that rightfully point out the racism of gen3, in which this person usually replies how they (a white person) personally doesn't see an issue with it. When poc explain the racism, this person blocks us and then proceeds to annoy another poc about the same issues, pretending like no one just explained the issues we have moments ago

This person gaslights our experiences, and when called out they will ridicule themselves to appear pitiful and avoid taking responsibility of their actions

And now they are going on about how White people experience racism, and how they're life is ruined for defending a doll line 🙄

Don't engage with them, just block them and warn other fans of them

Bringing this back up cuz they came crawling back again despite saying they were gonna stop

Accounts are @/laranomyprisma and @/project-prisma

On the topic of monster high, am i the only one who remembers isi dawndancer? idk what the intention for that character was but it feels at least iffy that shes based on a Choctaw spirit and her whole thing is shes "one with nature" and her design feels kinda stereotypically "indigenous"

Oh she very much was. Like the name itself is right there

It doesn’t help that there’s a good chance she was supposed to represent that one being that starts with a w from Algonquian culture. They call her the daughter of a deer spirit, but given this is monster high, I wouldn't put it past them. Because otherwise what makes her a monster?

Monster High and their representation of indigenous groups all over isn't the greatest and could use some work

I hate how Clawdeen was made mixed in G3, and I also hate how she (a werewolf) was made half human and this was all put together to make some dumbass metaphor or something about being mixed race (and I also hate how they have her eating tamales with the husks on but that besides the point)

They got my girl doing what-

People are confirming she eats the husk

Ok, so I think this supports my theory that the showrunners have no actual interest in latino culture and just threw it in there for diversity points

She eats it at 1:34 of this clip

My god, they really got her enhaling the entire tamale with the husk still wrapped on

Also why is the plot so complicated here?

For those that still think that she isn't mixed, just multicultural, here’s the thing: that can very much be the case

But given how much the series LOVES to emphasize how mixed she is by being half human and half werewolf, you can't fault people for assuming she's mixed racially

I'm at the point where I don't think the creators knew latine wasn't a race itself, hence why they made her latina last minute

They made her latina just to further show you she's mixed and got 2 different cultures. It's just all clumsy and stupid honestly

I agree so hard with you about Clawdeen's glasses (+ it would've been so cute and fitting if they were half moon styled)

I don't know about half moon glasses because that gives off more adult vibes

Although, they could've just made them her reading glasses. Idk, when characters wear these frames when working I associate it with "work mode" rather than adult

But either way, half moon glasses would've looked good on her. Or on her big sister actually

I think my issue with G3 Clawdeen’s glasses, other than the fact they ugly as hell, is that they don’t really advertise her dolls wearing them

Her eyeglasses in the doll line are treated more of an accessory and not, yknow, an aid for her eyesight

Even when they do show the doll with her glasses, they treat it like sunglasses or something you can just casually let sit on your head(granted idk if the Mattel took this photo or a fan. Although for fans to treat her eyeglasses as sunglasses still presents the problem in hand)

Even her music video, showcasing her doll, just does not include her glasses

I guess it doesn’t help that there are so many design concepts for the G3 dolls(not including the movie) all thrown out there

But Clawdeen’s are far more inconsistent. Even her big eyebrows and hairy legs are much noticeable compared to her doll counterpart. I don’t have an issue with big eyebrows and hairy bodies. I have an issue with how these features are not needed on the fashion dolls

And if they didn’t want to show her wearing glasses, because it takes away attention from the details of her nose and freckles? Well maybe not give her eyeglasses to begin with.
