literally when i started shipping them i went on ao3 and just made a night out of reading all ur jara fics. ur so incredibly talented and i was just even more in love with them. i will get justice for jara if i gave to literally go to war.
(i love jara hc’s too, a lot) my main ones that are if they dated their dates would be in nice quiet little diners or restaurants that tara picked out. tehy keep quiet because they want to be in their own bubble for as long as possible. and jj is a horrible cook so tara bans her from the kitchen… jj’s repayment for tara cooking all their meals are plenty of kisses, obviously

I honestly appreciate your support. Writing JJ/Tara is purely self-indulgent because I know it's not going to be read by a ton of people. So connecting with the handful of people who DO ship them is very special.
I also HC that Tara cooks a lot. Big Taurus Vibes™. Here's some other soft Jara headcanons for you:
- Tara teaching Henry how to drive and he gets interested in cars and she starts showing him how to restore his first car, since its a bit older and needs some work. They spend weekends at Al's together.
- Michael begging Tara to come to his class' career day, even though JJ was already going. But Michael says both of his moms are heroes and he secretly tells Tara she's cooler than JJ
- Getting home late from a case and they just order pizza and cuddle up on the couch together. They're just kissing and cuddling and enjoying each other's company
- Like you said, JJ and Tara start dating but keep it quiet around the team for a while. Just so they can have their own little thing together. But JJ gets hurt on a case and it's super minor but Tara flips out and is SO overly protective. Luke is the first to pick up on it. He doesn't say anything at the time, but pulls Tara aside after the case and just says he's so happy that she's happy and that JJ is really lucky to have her.
- The ways they say 'I love you' are subtle and soft. The way Tara makes them dinner all the time. The way she naturally starts rubbing JJ's shoulders after a long day. The way JJ let's Tara open doors for her (something she hated at first, but came to understand it was just Tara's way of being caring). The way JJ will draw Tara a bath that's ready as soon as she gets home from a long day. The way JJ will always find Tara's hand to hold, even when she's asleep.
- JJ gets matching Christmas pjs for the boys each year and they open them on Christmas eve so they can sleep in them. It used to be a family tradition that she, Will and the kids would match on Christmas morning. But now she only gets pjs for the kids. So like the second year she and Tara are together, Tara gives JJ a present on Christmas eve when the boys get theirs. And it's a matching set, so JJ and the boys have that tradition again. BUT Then, Henry hands TARA a present... And he got her a matching set too 🥺
- Tara never really celebrated her birthday in any sort of way, just because growing up she moved around a lot and didn't usually have a lot of friends and her family life was strained. But JJ always makes Tara's birthday SO special. Pulls out all the stops. Gives her the most caring and thoughtful gifts, takes care of her all day, it's a whole tradition now.
- JJ gets a call from Henry's high school one day and the principal says he was in a fight. JJ is jumping to conclusions and getting angry about it before even hearing the story, so Tara decides to be the one to go get him,so JJ can calm down before Henry gets home. Henry tells Tara that some kids were making fun of another younger student that's gay and Henry stepped in to try and calm the situation down and ended up in a fight. Tara is very proud of him and tells him how Gabriel stood up for her in school in a similar way. It's a cute bonding moment
- On the weekends that Will has the kids, Tara and JJ are usually just out in their yard, gardening and sitting in the sun and napping on the hammock together. They try to fill all of their time off with as many quiet moments as possible, because it helps keeps them level headed in the field
