ok so i TOTALLY get this for fifteen year old giorno but as u all know my giorno interest is in 25 year old don giorno who’s never really been challenged - a stand like golden experience requiem will really help make sure you never have to worry about that - and started running the mafia at fifteen and now has only known the dark underbelly of the world for nearly half of his life, is about twice the height and twice the breadth of his weedy (well. in comparison) teenage self–

and you know what? absolutely still makes kissy noises when he sees a little kitten hiding under the bins. still occasionally makes a frog to just Hop Around For A Bit and give his office character. yeah, ok, maybe the people he has DIRECTLY OPPOSED think he’s cool and maybe that’s the image he’s trying to convey

but his inner sanctum? absolutely on that ‘what a fucking dork’ opinion.

Giorno did inherit Dio’s moral compass fam where were you for the 8 days he decided to breeze into the mafia, murder a capo in cold blood for his own personal advancement, and cause the decimation of the Bucci Gang from the inside all because he Had A DreamTM?

Giorno got what he wanted. What he’d idolized in that nameless mobster from his childhood.

Power.

We were sold on Giorno’s purity, on the righteousness of his Dream. It justified everything that happened throughout the course of Vento Aureo. But was there a precipitating factor to the events of Part 5 beyond Giorno deciding he wanted to stir shit up? Was there an awakening of vampire evil or Pillar Men or stand abilities that McGuffined 2001 JoJo into action? Or did he just see an opportunity crystallize in front of him, and decide to dive in with both feet? Those boys were literally just vibin before Giorno Brando rolled in like “Hey bitches we gon take over the mob, but it’s a secret,” and then a week later half they asses were dead.

Is it good that Diavolo’s dead and gone? Probably. Are things going to be much better, or more moral and upright, in 👉👉 The Mafia 👈👈 with Giorno Giovanna in charge of? Doubtful. Did Giorno really have to commit to torturing Diavolo for all of eternity to beat him? I mean…did he?

The visual callbacks between Giorno and Dio are more than coincidental. The shadow pose, the black and gold and green outfit. Giorno is a Joestar, but he is very much a Brando too.

(Also side note I think Mista realises all of this and is not exactly thrilled about the prospect of working for GioGio for the rest of his life. I may or may not be writing a fic to that effect, if I can get my thoughts together)
