I mean that's still alcohol/addiction in the family so I'll gladly listen to your thoughts! Especially with a twin that would affect you a lot more most likely than just a sibling depending on where y'all were in your lives then. Like I said it's all very interesting to me, especially because general fandom seems to mostly react that same way that's why I'm curious about others.

Okay but do you have proof of this lol. I have heard this before but have never seen any actual proof. And what TYPE of tsn RPF the fic is changes half the time people claim this too. Like this was my whole point people keep saying this with their whole chest but it mostly just seems to be hearsay. the one fic people seem to point to is one that was deleted off the web in 2012 so it's very hard to find but just from the summary sounds nothing like the book lol

I do think batcat is a more realistic ship for batman in general! There's so many good reasons why bat and cat work well together (similar motivations, arguably similar priorities in that they both to their bones feel Gotham is their home and want to make it better, similar moral codes (despite her being a thief), etc.) even if the some of the recent batcat comics haven't been... great characterization wise (Tom King my beloathed)

My issue comes from kinda like with when people make Spidey pool aus with their blorbos, esp since the 2022 Batman movie came out I've been seeing a lot of batcat aus with people's blorbos and idk, some of it doesn't sit right!

Part of it I think is that so often people replace Catwoman with a white dude and while Catwoman isn't always a woman of color, she definitely is in the movie they are pulling from so that always feels a little sketchy to me. Some of it is that people obviously don't really know Selina outside of Bruce which can also make any blorbo adaption of them feel weird. Which is sad because Selina is awesome!

Selina is an amazing foil to Bruce, but also really dang cool on her own whether she is wrangling the Gotham organized crime scene like she has in recent comics, or simply taking young sex workers under her wing and giving them a place to get on their feet like she was often seen doing in the New Earth era!

(Honestly, even when she is just being a more "shallow" villain and just stealing cat themed items from museums and also having psychic connections to her cats is fun too.)

Controversial opinion, but I think people just get to stuck on trying to fit their blorbos into preconceived boxes based on comic power couples, and that superhero aus would be way more fun if they utilized lesser known ships, or learned the truth that comic book fans know, which is that at any time your fave could suddenly be in a whirlwind romance with a teammate or random other cape. Match up your blorbos with a character that actually fits them and shipping will come later ;P

(Sorry I am still a little wonky in the head rn from being sick so if this doesn't make complete sense.... oops.)

It really does! Like there are so many more times you'd think the vampires (not the core 4 but other vampires) would go after the crew but it only comes up at very specific points wowjejddll like the second half of S2 has them get gone after a LOT but like there's so many eps when they just aren't relevant lmao. also like with regards to animal rights like... there are plenty of cultures that pay respect to the animals but the west keeps outlawing their practices igherijagijgir like according to most religious laws (in Judaism, Islam, and also according to Sikh customs) the slaughtering practices are done in a way to make the death as quick (and PAINLESS) as possible. not even to touch on the fact that indigenous americans have been eating meat for millennia in a way that didn't completely destroy the ecosystem lmao.

Oh no I’m not criticizing the my boy thing!! For reference, there’s an issue in irl hockey fandom with people infantilizing young players to the point where they aren’t holding them accountable for their actions and some people have been like “stop calling them boy, they are men!!” And then there’s me who calls every one of the male gender “boy” lol so like I get it.

My issue is more wth the constant use of sht like “baby boy” etc etc esp when it’s used towards either white men (I.e. Excusing their actions and shit), east Asian men (there’s a huge problem with infantilizing them, see chowder and a lot of fandoms treatment of him just Bc he’s bittys frog so bitty calls him his son (which honestly I don’t think bitty himself is infantilizing him but that’s a dif post)) and/or mlm Bc fandom esp infantlizes mlm u g h.

A lot of my frustration from this fandom comes with the fact that just Bc he’s small for a hockey player (the dude is shorter than the male average but he’s like, still 5'7", I’m friends with plenty of dudes around that height and all of them do either running or mma like their all lean and don’t even feel short around normal sized people??) and he ~bakes~ and dances to Beyoncé and is half half a foot shorter than his boyf people act like he’s not a fucking athlete and a man??

Lmao sorry for the rant I’m just constantly frustrated!!

okay so i had this half written and then didnt touch my computer for a week oops. so a list of stupid shit bitty has done that no one expects despite the fact he is a college student, a hockey player, a boy, and only 21:

  1. shotgunned a beer at 10am the friday before finals bc fuck his life he’d been studying all week and if he aint ready now hes never gonna be
  2. once nearly took out the legs of the dining room table trying to escape a post workout holster by sliding through the kitchen
  3. ate a cold pizza straight from the box for breakfast because he was running late to class and it had been left on the table the night before
  4. nearly fell off the roof while smoking with shitty and lardo
  5. actually fell into the school swimming pool when the current seniors decided they wanted to break into the pool at 3am on a whim
  6. nearly got arrested for trespassing in the park after dark bc shitty decided he wanted to play frisbee in the dark at 11pm
  7. bitty actually was the least likely to get arrested considering he straight up vaulted over a short brick wall and tore down the side of hill away from the cop car
  8. the others were honestly really impressed with his reaction time
  9. did several chinese fire drills with the frogs the last time they drove to providence to see the falcs play (nursey nearly didn’t make it back into the car the very last time)
  10. did a shot of absinthe to prove that his alcohol tolerence was amazing fuck you very much zack jimmermann
  11. woke up the next morning on the cursed couch with a box of mickey d’s chicken nuggets sitting on his stomach and possibly a rash from said cursed couch
  12. bus surfed (as in, balancing in the aisles without holding on not on top of the bus) on the local bus and nearly killed an old lady
  13. rode down the Haus stairs in a laundry basket bc other than lardo and foxtrot he was the only one who would fit (lardo was too stressed and foxtrot has done some stupid shit with the boys but she at least has that much sense)

honestly i could probably come up with more but this was getting long
