can we talk about this scene from farewell my turnabout for a moment? this is the conversation that happens if you present franziska’s profile to gumshoe before going to visit her at the hospital, and like. i love franziska, but she is without question a difficult person and an even more difficult boss, and she’s always remarkably cruel to gumshoe in particular. it’s been well-established by this point that she frequently beats him up, makes him do all the worst jobs, and that he’s terrified of her. and yet this sweet, perfect man still says this about her. not only does he recognize (uncharacteristically insightfully, i think) that her pride has taken a beating, he also recognizes that she’s still just a kid, and worries for her despite the way she treats him. GOD i just love gumshoe so much he deserves the world
