A very rare visitor in my neck of the woods, this Long-tailed Skipper made my month. It likely hatched way down south, where it might have grown up chomping on soybean leaves, and now it's drinking nectar in the northeast. Incredible.
My hands were shaking a lot from entomological joy while I took this photo. The butterfly was pretty blasé.
