subtitle check for prophecies of nostradamus (1974) has been finished
Subtitles for Prophecies of Nostradamus (1974) have been updated, currently synced to the original VHS to DVD-R rip (not the AVI file). Over half of the subtitles have now been checked over and redone in places, as of 14th October, 14:00.
The original subs used the Export version dialogue as a base and filled in the missing scenes with an estimation due to limitations of that time - which I hope to correct.
Subtitles updated and finalised for Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla (2002), and Godzilla: Tokyo SOS (2003). These correspond to the 720p TV broadcasts in circulation from c. 2008.
- The Godzilla Against Mechagodzilla subtitle track utilises the Universe Laser release as a base, with corrections and conventions applied. The majority of lines deemed too simple in translation have been padded out via the Japanese script ran through DeepL.
- The Godzilla: Tokyo SOS subtitle track utilises the Sony release as a base, with corrections and coventions applied. The majority of lines have been checked over via the Japanese script ran through DeepL, due to the lines originally reflecting the English dub.
- Both tracks are in British English, and some instances of phrases and words may possibly not be familiar with American English speaking audiences.
- AMF (Anti-Megalosaurus Force) changed to JXSDF (Japan Counter-Xenomorph Self Defence Force), in-line with the original official English name.
Update, 20th November 2022:
- All films will be tagged via their IMDB number from here on for better access. For example, The Silent Star (1960) is tagged as tt0053250.
- Toho Godzilla titles will now also be tagged as G, followed by their entry number. For example, The Return of Godzilla (1984) is now also tagged as G16, alongside tt9015178.
apologies for the wait! resubs now abailable for the secret of the telegian!
subtitle database updates for 14th april 2021:
- all Heisei entries updated with English subtitles from the Universe Laser DVD releases
- entries for Godzilla vs. Biollante, Godzilla vs. King Ghidorah, and GMK have been updated with new and improved subtitles, while previous efforts for other Heisei and Milennium titles temporarily removed
- Godzilla: Tokyo SOS now has improved subtitles as of 22:00 - file needs polishing.
Demo dropping February 21st!
Back in August 2015 as a personal blog, I didn’t think I’d even get this many follows. Thank you all to who’ve supported this project from its early days, and those who are now recently following.
Proud to announce that my fangame(s) is back in the works!
Introducing GODZILLA ADVENTURE: MU, and GODZILLA ADVENTURE: LEMURIA, with concepts and elements heavily inspired by the Pokémon handheld series - most notably Ruby, Sapphire, and Emerald versions.
More information to follow in the coming days. A third title will follow after the release (subtitle subject to change).
MID-HIATUS UPDATE:
- In a teaser post made on Twitter, I am announcing that I’m beginning work again on a Godzilla-related fangame for PC. Visuals will be unveiled on the 5th December when the site returns to normal posting/updating.
- All Godzilla films, including G’98, G’14, and KOTM, will be indexed with subtitles on 5th December.
- BIORANTE now has two members running the site and social media channels to pick up the pace of content posting a little.
Ending this post, to reiterate a statement on my now-deactivated personal Twitter account, FentyMothra (also known as JetFaguar), I have no intention of returning to output on there. Keeping to one Twitter account is more beneficial for this blog.
Alongside that, I haven’t been truly happy with my personal tweets being engaged with certain users on there. The vast majority of my tweets were said in jest unless said otherwise. Some of you have the illusion that I need to be taken off this imaginary pedestal due to these tweets gaining some ground, and some only constantly interact to disagree. It’s real kooky and I don’t have time to deal anymore with it.
Anyways, catch you back on the 5th!
