Days had gone by, filled with Harrison and yourself going to the gym daily to practice hand-to-hand combat. Parts of you wanted to ask him to teach you how to shoot a gun, but other parts weren’t entirely sure that was the best idea. By the end of the day each day, you were so tired that you weren’t even sure you’d be able to hold your own arms up long enough to pull the trigger on a gun anyway.

By Friday, you were so exhausted, you were dreading going to the gym that day, and more importantly the charity gala your father had set up for the following night. You weren’t even sure you’d be able to stand on your own feet, much less make an appearance and save a dance for your dad, as you had promised you would. Your shoulders were tense, and your biceps overworked. In reality, you weren’t sure why you continued to torture yourself. The past few days had been quiet, no threatening texts, no appearances by anyone who seemed to be of any danger, so really there was no reason to continue.
