Aladdin and Eugene's dating past upsets Rapunzel and Jasmine

Aladdin and Tangled's Mermaid Episodes

It dawned on me how both Aladdin and Tangled's series each had a beach episode that included a mermaid with a romantic element so I thought I take a chance to examine them.

Aladdin's Elemental, My Dear Jasmine focused on Jasmine being kidnapped by Saleen, an evil mermaid who tried to steal Aladdin away for herself while trapping Jasmine in the sea.

Tangled's There's Something About Hook Foot focused on Hook Foot falling in love with a mermaid named Seraphina. Rapunzel and Eugene were helping him prepare for his date, but are later attacked by creatures of the sea after Seraphina.

Plus they even shared a scene where the mermaid came across a fish friend now being sold as food!

Both were romance episodes with a lot of similarities and differences. The only real difference that sticks with me is that Aladdin's episode focused on Aladdin and Jasmine's relationship unlike Tangled's episode where it focused on Hook Foot instead of Rapunzel and Eugene. On the bright side, both main couples shared a sweet moment at the end of each of their episodes.
