Hi, I'm Alex, I live in Brisbane on the east coast of Australia, and I love muscle cars, well actually anything with a motor tied to it, Street Machines, Hot Rods, Kustom Kulture, sports, The Fast & the Furious imports and stock original muscle, we all come under the umbrella of car enthusiasts. Normal everyday people just don't get it, the automotive zombies that use a car just for transporting them from A to B. It is so much more, your pride and joy, the smell of the upholstery as you open the door, the feel of the seat as you get in it, the grasp, the texture of the gear stick in your hand, the turn of the key in the ignition, the burble and roar of the engine as you fire it up, the sensation of freedom you feel as you back out the driveway, the eagerness you have driving your chariot, your passion down the road. The pleasure and certainty you have taking off, absconding with your vehicle far away from the every day, the worries and stress you leave behind. We capture, guard and enjoy a nostalgic piece in time every opportunity we get to leave the garage and do this. The euphoria of cutting loose, escaping mediocrity, hitting the road, going where your heart desires, just you and your machine because "it's not the destination, the journey is the destination"! Then when you find a partner or companion with a hunger and craving as voracious as you have, the desire, the thirst of all things automotive, Nothing and I mean NOTHING comes even close to this exhilaration of abandonment, when you can share this obsession, this adventure with another, who has the same enthusiasm as you do. To experience those long drive's on a starry night side by side, be captivated by the same encounter, cruising till the sun comes up, that is to live! Love the beast. The XC Ford Falcon Cobra GS Hardtop was launched in August 1978. Each of the XC Cobras were given there own serial number and a build number plaque from 1 to 400 which was placed on the dashboard. From number 2 to 31 were know as 'Option 97' {also known as Bathurst Cobras}, which were fitted with optional parts for homologation to compete in the Australian Touring Car Championship. Including the 5.8 Litre 351 V8, a larger radiator with twin thermo fans, transmission oil cooler, front suspension tower braces, reworked wheel housings and racing seats. They were identified by a large rear-opening bonnet scoop. The remaining 370 standard Cobras, 170 were equipped with the 351 (5.8-litre 162kW/429Nm) and the next 200 with the 302 (4.9-litre 151kW/364Nm). All featured “nostril” bonnet scoops and spoilers, Globe Bathurst 15x7 alloy wheels, four-wheel disc brakes and a limited slip diff.Price when new for a 1978 XC Cobra GS 5.8 Litre 351ci V8 four speed manual Hardtop: $10.100.00Released: August 1978Total produced: 400

The XA Ford Falcon "Superbird" Hardtop concept car debuted at the 1973 Melbourne International Motor Show.

The "Superbird" concept was an attention grabber and featured metallic Silver paint with a bright orange 'bird' outline graphic that ran down both sides, stretching from the rear bumper to the front wheel arches. The interior was trimmed in a similarly bright mix of red and pale grey upholstery.

The rest of the specification was pretty much standard XA GT hardtop, although the bonnet wasn't painted in the usual contrast colour. Polished 'kidney-bean' mags and Goodyear Polyglas tyres completed the package.

It created so much attention that Ford decided to produce a limited run of 700. Unfortunately, these were watered-down versions of the showcar with a reduced size for the Superbird graphic, and a milder 4.9 Litre 302ci V8 engine in the package instead of the GT’s 5.8 Litre 351ci V8.

They were available in three different colour combinations; Lime Glaze / Jewel Green, Polar White / Cosmic Blue and Yellow Fire / Walnut Glow.
