The saga of Peanut the Squirrel

I know this against my will but the owner of peanut was repeatedly warned that he needed to give him up and could not have him without a license, and the reason peanut was euthanized was bc he bit the cop that came to get him and since the owner had never bothered to get him vaccinated for rabies they had to euthanize him (peanut) to test his brain for rabies. So actually this really is pretty much completely all on the owner.

I didn't think I had to clarify my point was that every pet should be vaccinated against rabies at a bare minimum, not that peanut deserved to die for the crime of biting a cop. The cop biting part was admirable.

#It's frustrating bc you see how hard legit rescues and sanctuaries work esp to make sure everything is in order with permits #Apparently multiple rescues in the area asked to help and take the animals so they wouldn't get euthuantised #But no he didn't care #And yeah would openly flaunt his unpermitted unvaxxed animals all over social media and at public events #And like as juniper foxx said 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️ yeah it's not subtle it's gonna attract authorities #I follow rescues that rehab deers and other that rehab foxes and it's frustrating bc their first priority is release #But no some ppl see the rise in these pages and go I should steal animals from the wild for clout #Even register as a charity for tax reasons!
