He might even be right. But there is only disaster left in its wake, and knowing this might be temporary does nothing to soften Ciri’s dismay at the wreckage. Ciri doesn’t want to control it. She wants to smother it. She’s been carried so far from the shore, and Yennefer? Yennefer is the promise of an anchor.

Yennefer comes to Kaer Morhen to teach Ciri to control her powers. They find one another along the way.
