Adar Concept Art Wondering if the Triskelion detail on the armour (belt buckle, collar) was supposed to mean something source (x)
ANOTHER TRISKELION?!?!?!? what the heck… Those have to mean something, this symbol pops up in various costumes throughout the series… Is it just the number three? I haven’t read the silm, were there 3 silmarillion gem stone thingys? Sorry, I’m too lazy to google right now.. Tolkien nerds, help meee
Could it have anything to do with this?
Elrond: "Three? Why three?" Galadriel: "One will always corrupt. Two will divide." Celebrimbor: "But with three, there is balance." (1x08)
The fact that Elrond doesn't know "why three" at first, but Galadriel and Celebrimbor both get it, makes me wonder if that idea is something that the Really Old People might be familiar with, for some reason. Maybe it does have something to do with the Silmarils.
If we think of the order in which things were created, and how the introduction represents the creation of things, the Triskelion shows up almost right after the Two Trees. And the Silmarils were made from the light of the Two Trees.
But still you're right, why is it like everywhere, including Númenor? ? ?
