Its common to xoy cultures to shave their fur and then paint the furless skin. Some do tattoos and keep a constant shaved look, or only shave to reveal the tattoos in specific circumstances.

Different layers of a xoy's ornaments. The face is shaved and the fur is trimmed in angular equally leveled cuts. A yellow pigment is used on the face, then red is used to create patterns following the flow of the facial muscles. The horn carvings are painted black and red. Earrings are then added and a neck piece is balanced. The neck piece is tied on the horns, with a heavy long haired knot on the back. This piece is crafted in a way that it resembles wings and the xoy's movement and dance will cause it to move in assymetric ways. The piece relies on the balance and distribuition of different weights to stay in place, which makes it looks like its flying. Space jaguar growth concepts. Those are in the head but they can grow anywhere with any combination. They're not supposed to be set on stone either, just samples of what kinda stuff they can have. Hey is there anything regarding my characters/worldbuilding/species that youd like to know/is curious about? I'm looking for some art inspiration and those help me with developing stuff n drawing things.

Meanwhile have this preview of some xoy markings I was concepting on. Id like their markings to follow a specific logic everytime (cheeks always being dark and neck always being light, for example). This way one can apply some genetics logic to xoy coat possibilities :)

I lost my first doodles of them on my ipad, but its neat to give a second take on them cuz i feel like i got to make them more powerful >:) anyway thats yrasẽma! at least thats their name for now lol. they're a middle aged enby with metallic stretch marks. And butterfly ears! I got the idea to draw them before falling asleep some months ago... you know how before sleep sometimes you start visualising all sorts of stuff? It was like that. Came to me like a vision. A very murky yellow one, but I was like, damn... that kinda cool actually. Then I got up to doodle them on my ipad. Guess I'll really need to invest on repairing it somehow cuz i'll miss doing that. Another thing about yrasẽma is that they're colourblind and they probably have like, one kid for each year after they turned 20. They had a pretty shitty life until their husband died, and after that they decided to travel the world alone. They hang out with nomads from time to time, and is known to say "oh one of my kids lives there" to basically every single town someone can name. Minis of my ocs! An yet unnamed xoywren, Jiji the meao-ixuí and their human baby. A couple of sentient creatures whose behaviour, biology and cultures are almost entirely different from those of the humans in their world trying to raise a human kid is a fun thought i've been playing with. Oh and they don't know anything about humans either, other than that they're the local tall & naked guys. Meao-ixuí & xoywren are species by me
