[Pinned] About + Rules

🌟About:

This is a (side)blog focused on Oowada Rui and Ukkomon from the 02 movie "THE BEGINNING" and there will be spoilers, but tagged properly as 02tb spoilers -- so please add this one in the filters in case you don't want to see spoilerish discussion/art/posts.

That said... I felt in love with Rui since his adult design, name and VA was announced. Some of my old art/stuff featuring him was wild speculation until now.

I'm Ni/ @digitalgate02 (She/They; Ace; 20+) btw. I post my other stuff on @legendheroes ; @tomorrows2top and @detectiveichijouji lately.

Status: lurking.

🌟Rules:

  • → NO BASHING/DUNKING ON ANY SERIES, OR CHARACTERS. Also I won't tolerate hateful comments.
  • → NO SHIP WARS. Yes, this blog is canon compliant so please, avoid asking about non-canon or if possible asking shipping at all.
  • Btw the only Rui ship i care so far is Daisuke/Rui, and i won't allow hate towards either of them or any ship involving them.
  • → I don't ship human/digimon and I might block if you ship it.
  • → Please don't send me requests to draw stuff. Some replies might have art! But if you just drop me something like "can you draw [insert here some prompt/idea]" i will immediately reply with my comm. price chart :) And no, I won't draw fetish art.
  • → Ah, I have so little to zero knowledge of the American dub of any digi-series. I will only work with the Japanese version or Brazilian dub. No dub or OG version dunking is allowed in this space by the way.
  • → I don't like passive-aggressiveness. If you have something to correct in my posts, please do it politely.
  • → Usual common etiquette -- No hatred towards people's religions, sexual/romantic orientation, gender (or lack of), PoC, ethnicities, etc. I won't hesitate to block if needed.
  • → Do not edit my art or repost it. If you wanna use it as an icon/sidebar, ask first. And no, you cannot use my art on A/I & N/F/T for ANYTHING. If you do that, I will block you immediately.

Something that keeps coming back and forth in my mind is that, since the Advverse has this concept of the digimon representing their human partner's heart (or being their "other-self")... And this can also be applied to Rui and Ukkomon, in my honest opinion.

Especially when it comes to how the human psyche also affect the evolution of a digimon, which is why you get Taichi being reckless and (according to the novel) a prideful idiot resulting in SkullGreymon back in Adventure'99 (and also why Daisuke lacking any strong negative emotion during 02 never forced him to dark-evolve V-mon)

I'm not very good at meta-ing things like these, so please feel free to correct me if I'm missing something out!

nvm maybe the funniest thing for a VTuber Rui-kun AU would be if his support group is just Meiko and Wallace and the 02 kids don't know about his secret identity and only know him by his real name/identity?

but the question is… which kind of VTuber would he be? 🤔

I'd like to talk about my views about DaiLui and why i feel like it could be mutual.

Like, i do believe in the Rui → Daisuke order because it's more accurate and cuter, even if a bit of cliché. But I also like Daisuke → Rui route, it has its own charm and comedy in it.

But Rui is not like Daisuke, of course, and they differ between how they react to people having romantic interests on them.

Rui might not be oblivious like Daisuke, he's pretty well aware of people's feelings so if someone ever confessed to him, he would be in denial due to his past experiences and awful trauma he had. He's still learning to socialize and to interact with others, he's not used to people really liking him. So it will be a bit hard but you can get there, Daisuke-kun!

Meanwhile, and as everyone is well aware, Daisuke has zero awareness when people like him if you don't tell him (or even, if you tell him, he might not believe it either). Since he's dense af, there's a lot of work to be done here in this relationship so good luck, Rui-kun.

... And then I realized that i just described mutual pinning for the first time in my life.
