hi, i am the one talking about playing with your characters insides in your other blog, i just want to say i'm sorry if i went too far, i don't want to make you uncomfortable
oh no don't worry, I am all about it hehe
just gonna take me some time to get to that art since it's more intensive and I'm getting distracted with other projects lol
I love Uriah because he's so smug and powerful and in control, but he can turn pathetic and pitiful so so easily. Peak whump character.
he's so much fun to hurt for this reason ahaha
his control is entirely dependent on his current social standing (does he have the money to bribe/hire people? are the other higher-ups sufficiently afraid/respectful to him? Once these are unbalanced, he really has nothing
I'm sending this in a seperate ask in case of spoilers BUT! I was wondering if The Interrogator will only end Sahotas time on the Test Track if he admits flat out that a method would break him. Like they're both sticking through this because they're trying to save their own stubborn sense of pride, but somebody is clearly running out faster than the other.
⌚(you can leave/edit this ask if you don't want spoilers)
not entirely spoilery, so I'll answer!
while this would appease them and probably make them reel it in a little bit when it came to Sahota's treatment, they're not letting him go until Vic tells them they have to
Wait hold on, when you say "Vic is the only one who made it through training," do you mean the others dropped out or...worse?
some dropped out very early on
some... or worse
"leg wounds stinging" asdjfkk Ander my baby boy, look at the blood!!!
he tends to downplay his bad days
tbh i kinda thought that Vic had talked to Hunter beforehand to make sure Hunter would be the lone juror in the decision to rescue Sahota, just so he could have everything go according to his plans. because I feel like that’s something Vic would do
(soup anon)
it's definitely not something he wouldn't do lol
but at that point, he's confident enough that Hunter doesn't want to disappoint him. It was also a way for him to kind of test the waters and see if Hunter would bend to peer pressure, or to him
Honestly I suspected since the first few chapters that Sahota was abused/hurt by Vic in some way
you were correct (unfortunately for Sahota)

“I didn't even get to help.”
“Sure you did! You said the drone chassis was like a combo lock—”
“A master brand combo lock yes, but those are child's play.”
The team was gathered in the dining hall for the evening meal; platters of tasteless chicken, rice, and some unidentified green vegetable. Kaius assumed it was as nutritious as it was bland, and mindlessly forked small bites into his mouth as the others chattered. Vic’s test had been as challenging as he’d anticipated, and though they’d technically failed it, the trial had given him a better perspective on the team. Cavan was fearless and determined; Ruebin was fearful but willing to run into danger all the same; and Davis… Jericho’s heart got in the way of his brain. Even Harbor had his uses, when he proved willing to cooperate.
He was nearly finished with his meal when Vic strolled into the room, something unreadable on his face. Cavan and Ruebin fell silent, and Jericho straightened in his chair. Shockingly, even Harbor sat up straight for once, looking like he may actually be paying attention. Strange to see him go from a slouching mess to someone who looked like he almost cared about this mission in the span of a few weeks.
Kaius had paid enough attention to know he and Vic had been spending time alone, but he was uncertain if it was for behavioral correction, additional training, or something else, and he didn’t care enough to speculate.
“I hate to interrupt your dinners,” Vic began. His tone was rife with his usual friendliness, though it seemed off, somehow. Like his voice was wearing a mask.
“I’ve just received an encrypted transmission from a source I believe is connected to Rotorworx.”
Interesting. If the transmission was anything pertinent, it could be the first new development in their intelligence collection. Kaius wondered if this would turn out to be something negative, and that was the explanation behind the shift in Vic. Was their handler concerned about something?
Unsurprisingly, Cavan raised her hand. “So does that mean they know who we are? Isn’t that a bad thing?”
“It’s nothing to be worried about,” Vic replied. “They reached me using a phantom frequency. One-time use. Untraceable.”
Jericho frowned. “How did they get the frequency?”
At this, Vic sighed, pinching the bridge of his nose. “I want all of you to come with me to the briefing room. I’ll answer further questions there.”
my favorite thing is that whenever you whump the other guys im like “oh yeah get his ass” but when you said you’re going to whump jericho i was like “nooooo!! you cant do that, that’s their dad!!”
here, I'll soften the blow by letting you guys choose :)
can you put me (honeycollectswhump) on the wildfire taglist? cinder is such a fun whumpee i can’t wait to see where the main story will take him <3
Sure!! Thank you hehe
Threatening to break Mel's limbs "haha i can always get another one"
Threatening to break Mel's limbs and hes blindfolded: "pls don't"
as soon as his fears/traumas are exploited, he loses any kind of false bravado
you know what would be super fun?? if you gave Cerus immortality. ooh he'd hate that :)
he actually would
Especially if it was before Tansy, being unable to die would be an extremely negative experience for him
If he was the only one who knew, he'd go to great lengths to try and keep it a secret from his tormentors, but in that kind of environment, it wouldn't stay secret for long...
Bruh, why did you make Uriah hot? >:(
Not I want to whump him
skskrkkt it's the circle of life
🔻(the black, i couldn't find in my phone) for wes
Childhood - before Wes stopped going to school, Kassidy was in his third grade class. They never learned his name during his stay at Arrow Det, and his hair definitely made it harder to recognize him, but they'd remember him if someone helped them make the connection.
my brain said "full send", so full send
You are an elite operative on Fleet payroll, doing their dirty work under the table. Your latest mission from them is both incredibly simple and incredibly vague: deter the Riot Kings at any cost.
It didn't take you long to come up with a plan for that; you've always been creative when it came to your work, and catching a Riot King proved even easier than you'd expected.
You drag your captive--fighting and cursing despite his restraints and the drug you injected him with--to the little spot you'd had set aside. He watches you hatefully as you lock his restraints in place, and begin to get out your tools, making sure he has a full view of each one. As you do so, you notice his expression slowly changing from sullen anger to apprehension. You can tell he expected rough treatment. Maybe a cell and an interrogation consisting mostly of crude violence. The scalpels seem to strike a chord of fear within him. Just how you like it
well, you're pretty much ready to start...

The Shadow King was strung up like a puppet when Nisha came to fetch him; a body hanging limp, suspended by chains. Even as seasoned a warrior as Nisha was, the sight of the gauntlets—the thought of his mangled hands being crammed back into them—turned their stomach. They'd be having a word with the guards about that.
Cerus was unconscious, and remained so as he was transported to the chamber where the interrogation would take place. Somewhere a little warmer, a little cleaner, for the visiting priests.
He was sat in a heavy iron chair, wrists and legs secured with embedded manacles. Once properly restrained, one of the holy mages woke him with a spell, and the silence of the room was broken with a gasp and an utterly pathetic whimper.
"Cerus Hollowthorn," the elder priest began. "You stand accused of forbidden magic. It is impossible for you to deny your use of necromancy, but the alleged blood rituals have yet to see evidence. What say you?"
The Shadow King took his time responding, perhaps catching his breath. Perhaps dragging out a scant moment of peace as long as he could.
