6 months! Whoop whoop!
The photo on the left popped up in my Facebook memories from last year and I thought, “Wow, I don’t think I look like that anymore?” And I don’t!
There’s one year and ~30 pounds lost between these two pictures!

Never Give Up! Took two years, but I’ve lost 100 pounds, and lost more than I thought I’d ever be able to. It’s just constant habit reinforcement of smaller portions.

Mirror selfie October 7th 2016 vs March 15th 2018
wasn’t sure if I was going to post this, but I have to start being proud of my accomplishments.
I went from having an eating disorder and dealing with self harm to learning to love myself and knowing that a number does not and will never define me. I still struggle 10000.5% but that’s okay. I’m still learning and everything takes time.
I know that I’m beautiful and this is the only body I’ll ever have so I have to treat it with the upmost respect & love.
learning how to do things the healthy way and changing my mindset & outlook on life, has saved me.
2015 > 2017 175lbs > 105lbs Tan > no tan
Two summers ago we went to Hawaii, and these “before” pictures are old remnants of that vacation. I don’t even keep them saved to my phone because I was so humiliated by myself; my mom had to send them to me for this.
I wore that sweater in sweltering heat because I was ashamed of my upper arms. I remember walking back to our resort one afternoon and my inner thighs were sweating and chafing so badly that they bled, which caused me to waddle-walk in a ridiculous way. My family kept asking me what in the world I was doing, but I couldn’t stop because it hurt so badly otherwise – I was embarrassed and in pain.
I was categorically obese, and the years I spent like that were some of the most unhappy and unhealthy years of my life. I was anxious and depressed, I had abysmal self-esteem, and I had no idea what to do.
This past year, I changed my entire life. I overhauled my eating habits and I got active. I honed in on personal growth and made big, huge adjustments to my lifestyle and my social circle. I have achieved more than I thought would ever be possible.
Today I am a significantly happier, healthier, more confident woman. I feel proud of my achievements and I feel more capable as an individual. I have fought hard to get to where I am; this is a battle that never stops, but I am happy to continue.
If you are wondering if it’s possible: it is. If you are tired of being stuck: make the change. If you’re in a bad place and you want out: take the reins.
I don’t see the difference when I look in the mirror, from 300lbs to 198.8lbs.
But you lay it out and it feels unreal. And it’s still going.

It took me so long to finally understand that I had the control to change my body, I just had to put in the effort. One random day in October, I decided to change my eating habits. I am so proud of how far I’ve come and I’m excited to reach new goals I’ve set for myself.

Before and during. Age 33 Starting weight 176lbs Current Weight:167lbs Goal Weight:125
I needed to see the photos side by side. I haven’t felt like I had any sort of progress. But I guess I’m starting to see a difference in my waist.
This is about 5 weeks difference. I hit the gym 5-6 days a week. (I walk there and back…about 6km total) I focus on lifting heavy weights. No more treadmill or elliptical! Love the weight lifting!
My eating habits are slowly getting better but I have a bad habit of eating fast food and I drink A LOT of booze. I know I need to change those bad habits…. I work a stressful job and I’m always on the go…. I haven’t quite managed to find a healthy alternative for managing stress to drinking just yet!
It’s a slow progress and it’s frustrating but I have accepted that I didn’t put on 40lbs overnight … I should expect to lose it overnight.
Here’s to everyone trying their best! 😘💪🏼

I’ve officially lost over 100lbs and am 2/3 of the way to my ultimate goal!
Shoutout to my damn self, but also my barbell, my foam roller, my butcher, my Fitbit, scientifically based and peer-reviewed supplement ratings, and to the permanent spotter and sous chef I married.

The before photo is from December 7, 2016, but I didn’t start losing weight really until January 18 of this year. It was when my next semester at college started and I could only wear one pair of pants that made me feel so terrible. I felt like I was wearing a body that wasn’t my own and I couldn’t take it anymore. In 2015 I was comfortably at 160, and then I gained 54 pounds from depression. I have a closet full of clothes I can’t wear, a constant reminder of letting myself go…but it’s okay.
It’s been 4 months and only 21 pounds but I can’t describe how much better I feel. I’ve eaten so much healthier and am training for a 5k with a couch to 5k program. I’ve learned about health through this, I’ve learned about my body, about food, about exercise -my weight gain, if anything, was a blessing to make myself focus on my health.
I still have a long way to go, but it’s important to recognize your accomplishments through it all. Even if you just walk for five minutes, eat one vegetable, keep going and keep progressing. If you fall off track, just get back on. The quote that’s gotten me through all of this is “Quitting won’t make it happen any faster.” Always keep trying.

I found out I had endometriosis so I went on an anti inflammatory diet. No red meat, gluten, caffeine, alcohol or lactose… And mostly no sugar :p
Most of the change happened within a year and I don’t get symptoms anymore! :)
