Young Jarod: Kyle! They’re coming! Kyle! Raines: Get him out of here. Young Kyle: No! Jarod, help! No, leave me alone. Jarod! Jarod! Jarod, help me!
[1.22 - Dragon House: Part 2]
Young Jarod: Can you hear me? Where are you? Young Kyle: Three doors down from the corridor. Where are you? Young Jarod: Four. I’m right next to you. Did you hear that? Young Kyle: Yes. Maybe they know. Do you think they know we’re talking? Young Jarod: Someone does.

Sydney: Your ship was spying in our waters. We demand you sign the admission of aggression. Young Jarod: We’d rather die. Raines: What about you, Lieutenant? Young Kyle: Well…maybe Jarod’s right. Raines: Damn it! That’s it. Sydney: What are you doing? Raines: I never should’ve allowed it. We’re aborting. Sydney: Dr. Raines. Dr. Raines. Young Jarod: A Flying Cross. Did they give this to you? Young Kyle: No. I’ve just always had it. Young Jarod: Dr. Raines let you keep it? Young Kyle: Dr. Raines is my friend. Young Jarod: It’s origami. I’ll teach you how to make it sometime. Where do they keep you? Young Kyle: They take me down an elevator. I’m not sure where, but there’s sounds in the ceiling. Young Jarod: From the air vents. I hear those sounds too. We must be close to each other. The speaker they use to talk to us, is there a wire leading from it? Young Kyle: Yeah. Why? Young Jarod: I think I know how we can talk…without them hearing us. [1.21 - Dragon House: Part 1]
I love his smile at the end of this scene. He’s so sweet and natural…
DSA: 7th Jun, ’68 Raines: Come on, Sydney. Young Jarod: Hi, Kyle. It’s me, Jarod. Remember? Young Kyle: We’re not supposed to talk. Young Jarod: Where are you from? Young Kyle: I don’t know. Young Jarod: Me neither. I only remember here. Do you know who you are?
[1.21 - Dragon House: Part 1]
DSA: 17th Aug, ’68 Young Jarod: You have to talk. Young Kyle: No. Young Jarod: Why? The anticipation of pain is clearly more effective than the pain itself. He’s almost at the brink. Raines: Don’t argue with me, just do it. Young Jarod: But... Raines: Just do it. Young Kyle: Ow! You burnt my hand! Young Jarod: It was real, Sydney. Sydney: You bastard! Raines: Sweepers. Sydney: Get to the infirmary, now! Young Jarod: Kyle, I’m sorry! I would never hurt you. Kyle, I would never hurt you. I would never hurt you. Kyle. Jarod: I’d never hurt you. [1.21 - Dragon House: Part 1]
DSA: 6th Feb, ’68 Sydney: Jarod has expressed his inability to complete the simulation without another pretender. As a result, I’ve convinced a colleague to establish new parameters for the Pretender program. Jarod, there’s someone I want you to meet. Jarod, this is Kyle. Kyle, Jarod. Young Jarod: Hi. Young Kyle: Hi. Jarod: Where did they take you, Kyle? [1.18 - Unhappy Landings]
Sweeper: We found him Sydney. We found him on the sublevel elevator goin’ down. Sydney: You can’t escape from there. Young Jarod: I wasn’t trying to escape. I was trying to find my friend. Sydney: Jarod. Young Jarod: I just know if I saw him once, I know he’d be my friend. Sydney: I don’t have the authority. Young Jarod: I’m just tired of being alone...tired of not having anybody to talk to. If I had a friend, I’d do anything for him. [1.18 - Unhappy Landings] I'm so glad about this memory. Sydney is so sweet, he really wants to make Jarod feel better, you can see it in his eyes. The fact that he asks TPTB to let Jarod meet Kyle is such a wonderful gift to Young J... *_*
DSA: 31st Jan, ’68 Sydney: Jarod, you need to finish the simulation. Young Jarod: I wanna see the other boy. Sydney: You know I can’t allow you to have contact with anyone. Young Jarod: Fine. Then I can’t finish the simulation. Sydney: Why not? Young Jarod: How am I supposed to pretend to do this if I’ve never had a friend? Sydney: You can simulate a lot of things you’ve never done before. Young Jarod: I want to see the other boy Sydney. I want to know what it’s like to have a friend. [1.18 - Unhappy Landings]
Sydney: Very good work Jarod. You’re making progress. Young Jarod: Sydney? Who’s that? Who’s that boy? Sydney: Another test subject. He’s working with another doctor. Young Jarod: What’s his name? Can I talk to him? Sydney: No. Young Jarod: But I don’t have any friends. Sydney: You won't be seeing him again. Young Jarod: Sydney, where are they taking him? [1.18 - Unhappy Landings]
Young Jarod: I can’t see anything. I need to go lower. Sydney: The child is just below you Jarod. Collapse is imminent. You have to abort. Young Jarod: I can save him Sydney. I can save him! Sydney: You have to abort. Young Jarod: No. No! Sydney: You’re dead. Young Jarod: I could have done it. Sydney: What? Save him? You can’t save everyone, Jarod, no matter how hard you try. Young Jarod: Well, I had to try. [1.16 - Under The Reds]
Young Jarod: Sydney? Why is everyone wearing black? How come you’re so sad? Sydney: We’re remembering someone who has left us, Jarod. Young Jarod: Is it the woman that got shot in the elevator? Miss Parker’s mother, isn’t it? Sydney: Don’t you ever speak of that to anyone ever again, understand? [1.15 - Jaroldo!]
The Pretender Mementos [14/88] [1.14 - Ranger Jarod]
You know, girls mature faster than boys. [1.14 - Ranger Jarod]
DSA: 20th March, ’67 Sydney: Jarod – Apollo One simulation. Young Jarod: The first warning is a flash as the spark ignites the pure oxygen in the capsule. I try to flee but I can’t; I’m strapped in. I know the escape procedure but the fire, it’s too hot. It comes into our air line. I try not to breathe but it’s too late.I can’t open the hatch. I can’t open the hatch. It’s too hot! I can’t think! No one can get to us. We can’t be saved. I’m burning. I’m burning! Sydney: Jarod, I’m here. It’s alright. Young Jarod: No one could save them. It was impossible. [1.14 - Ranger Jarod]
Young Jarod: What’s your name? Your first name? [1.14 - Ranger Jarod] I love her face at the end of the flashback. She *TOTALLY* cares about him... And this is the first time we understand her approach to the pursuit is very personal and emotional...
Young Parker: You’re afraid of me aren’t you, Jarod? Young Jarod: No. Young Parker: You were yesterday. I could tell. Young Jarod: I was nervous. You have soft skin. Young Parker: You didn’t even touch me. Young Jarod: Yes I did. In here. Hold out your hand like this. Can you feel it? [1.14 - Ranger Jarod] So young and yet so in-character. Jarod is wise and gentle, Miss Parker speaks defensively and she's impulsive as usual. But when it comes to Jarod, she always melts down. This scene is a masterpiece.
