Parker: What’s the advantage of betraying the Triumvirate? Jarod: The supposed power of the so-called prophecies have been leverage the Centre’s been using for years to keep the Triumvirate at bay. You people don’t really believe those things are real, now do you? Mr. Parker: The only thing that really matters is that the Zulus believe. Jarod: So if the scrolls become in the possession of the Triumvirate in Africa, the Centre’s power base is history. And I’m guessing your mother discovered this years ago. Parker: And if she found the scrolls, then- Jarod: She would have had all the leverage of the Centre. Parker: Or the leverage to end it. Are we getting warm? [Island of the Haunted] This scene is really wonderful, with Miss Parker getting on the plane and taking *that* turning point. If you think about it, when she makes this choice and follows her fatherS on the plane, she saves Jarod's life. Then there are those lovely glances they cast at each other... First when Jarod sees her entering the cargo hold: he is surprised, relieved and glad at the same time, his eyes are so full of love for Parker at that moment. And second when she exits, this glance looks like total trust and agreement, for the first time. I love him nodding at her and she staring at him so intently. But actually I don't know where to start to tell you how much I love this 'Are we getting warm'. Jarod and Parker are the one speaking here, they explain so many things to us about the scrolls. And it's the first time they're using their acknowledgment *TOGETHER* and not from opposite sides of the quest. They aren't competing anymore, it's not their usual 'First one to the answers wins', here. They're working together against the Centre. And they've finally discovered something important, together. So, when Parker tells her father, 'Are *WE* getting warm', I'm pretty sure that Mr. Parker realizes that he failed with her, that she actually is her mother's daughter and that Miss Parker really trusts Jarod. Are *we* getting warm means that Miss Parker has finally understood that she and Jarod must cooperate to find the truth.
