Alias - The Pretender comparison - XIII Bis Working on The Pretender - Episode 3.18 “Wake Up” Alias - Episode 1.04 “A Broken Heart” ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞ Another thing my two favorite shows share is the soundtrack in one of the best moments for the otp. The song is "Angel" by Sarah McLachlan, which is probably one of the most used songs for tv shows and movies soundtracks. In tP, we can hear the song both during Tommy's funeral (fading when Miss Parker is at the bar) and at the end, when she is at the cemetery. In Alias, the song is played in 'A Broken Heart' during my fave moment for the Syd-Vaughn otp. She's shattered because she doesn't understand who she is or what she's doing anymore, and Vaughn comes to comfort her like the beautiful guardian angel he is. Ok, there's some slight differences because: 1. Mp and Jarod's conversation isn't very lovely, far from it! She's drunk and, as usual, she scorns the pretender. Sydney and Vaughn, instead, have their first real conversation outside work and this is the moment she realizes that Vaughn really cares for her. (Ahw! *_* Man, I need to rewatch this episode!) 2. The song can be heard during the whole Syd-Vaughn conversation, while when Jarod and Mp start to talk, the song is just finished. Well, you know what? I don't care. Because these two moments are very similar, to my eyes. Two men trying to soothe and help the women they love (or at least care deeply about).

Alias - The Pretender comparison - XIII ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞ I'm so glad that I'm not the only one who noticed how much tP and Alias look the same. I don't usually reblog other people's stuff (I only do that if I find something so fantastic not to be reblogged). But I decided to post the link to another great work on this episode. I love so much the fact that this person really saw what I saw, we're on the same line! And this was a great tP/Alias Refuge!

Alias - The Pretender comparison - XIII Working on The Pretender - Episode 3.18 “Wake Up” Alias - Episode 1.01 “Truth Be Told” ∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞∞ As I already mentioned, to me Alias was the real heir of The Pretender, since the very first episode. I think I probably started to love Sydney Bristow so much because her tragedy, at least in season one, really reminded me of Miss Parker's. They both lose the man they love because of the agency they work for. Sydney reveals Danny that she is a C.I.A. agent (she doesn't know that SD-6 it's not real C.I.A., yet) and Sloane gives order to kill him. Parker tells her father she wants to leave with Thomas and he (probably) gives order to kill him. The lovely thing is that these strong and brave women need someone to take care of them during this terrible period. And they both have their *guardian angel*. While Miss Parker has her usual annoying pretender trying to make her keep her wits about her, Sydney meets Vaughn for the first time and something clicks at once.

I’ve spent the last couple of days working on this fiction, which is over. For everyone who might be interested, it’s not very long but intense (I hope). So, read it and enjoy it! ;)

Well, a few months later, and after rewatching ‘The Assassin’ (3.11), I guess it’s time to reblog myself.

I wrote this ff for all the Miss Parker & Thomas shipper, but actually it is mostly about a friendship between two great men.

If you want to read something about Jarod and Tommy’s friendship, here you go.

You can find it both on pretendercentre and fanfiction.net -

With a huge thank to the Beta reader Danielle SmileyFace

Once again, if you love Mp and Tommy, if you love tP and if you love "Wake Up", maybe you might want to read something very personal.

DAY 05 - FAVORITE EPISODE 3x18 Wake Up Jarod helps Miss Parker to find out who actually killed Tommy. This is amazing…

Well I thought so a year ago. Later I saw 'Bank' and 'Toy Surprise' for the first time and I changed my mind. But...I don't know. This episode really touches my heart. And not just because of Tommy's death, it's everything...it's a very special episode. I fell in love with this show because of 'Wake Up'.

Parker: I’m going to wait until they think it’s all...forgotten, find out who did this and make them pay. Jarod: Look under the tree next to you. I left you a little present. Don’t stop searching for those missing pieces, Miss Parker. If you do, you’ll never find what you’re looking for. [3.18 - Wake Up] Ok, and this is probably the best Jarodism ever... Author Note: In my categories, it would be an 'ADVICE-JARODISM' (Click here for details).

Parker: That’s it? That’s all you’re gonna do? Mr Parker: Uh, I know how hard it is to lose somebody you love. Stop searching for fixes, answers that may not exist. The only way to survive is get on with the business of living. Sorry, Angel. It’s a hell of a thing. [3.18 - Wake Up] And this is the moment when Mr. Parker's total indifference is emphasized most. In conclusion, it's the opposite of Sydney's concern for the woman.

Parker: Daddy. What are you doing here? Lyle: When I heard what you were up to, we were concerned for your safety, so we followed you. Brigitte: It’s a dangerous world little lady. Can’t be too careful. Mr Parker: She’s right. These people are nothing but scum. They’d kill you as soon as look at you. Parker: Daddy, this man was the last link in proving who killed Thomas. Mr Parker: Well, this breaks the chain for good. Get a cleaner team in here. I don’t want any trace of Centre involvement. Lyle: Yes sir. Yeah, this is Lyle. [3.18 - Wake Up] This looks like a 3 Vs 3 challenge. Please, look at "the good guys" standing at your left, and "the evil guys" approaching at your right. Good and Evil. A never-ending battle.

Parker: Dawson was framed. They planted my gun on him and pumped him so full of pure morphine that even he wasn’t sure if he pulled the trigger or not, Daddy. Don’t you see? This man at the garage is the only person who can identify Thomas’ killer. Mr Parker: Half a million dollars is a lot of money. I’d pay ten times that if I thought it’d ease your pain. If the Centre is involved, we’ll keep it internal. No outside agencies. Clear? Parker: Crystal. Mr Parker: You’ll find him, bring him back. It’s time we end this mess once and for all. [3.18 - Wake Up] I hate this man.
