[1.08 - Not Even a Mouse]
I WISH YOU ALL A VERY MERRY PRETENDER XMAS!
I had this fabulous dream tonight.
I was inside IOTH, obviously the moment at Ocee’s and then, suddenly, the scene became a more familiar one and I went back in Miss Parker’s apartment.
She and J were decorating the Xmas Tree together, like she’s doing on her own in Not Even a Mouse (1.08). And they were talking and having a nice time together.
Then there was a flashback to make me understand why they were doing this. And that was because Jarod had come to her house, MP had threatened him with her gun (as always), but later she had listened to Jarod’s words and decided to let him in, because she didn’t want to fight anymore.
Xmas magic.
I loved my dream, I woke up so relaxed and feeling so well this morning…

I guess it’s Jarod’s turn to let her have a rabbit. Ahw, so sweet… *_*
...Twas the night before Christmas and all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse... [1.08 - Not Even A Mouse] Maybe a mouse not. But a white bunny, yes *_* Remember what I mentioned before for Sydney, whose eyes are twinkling when he realizes that Jarod contacted him in Mount Pleasant? Well I think we can say the very same thing here referring to Miss Parker. When she opens the present and finds the white bunny, her reaction is so emotional: Her eyes roam around, as if she was thinking about that memory we've learned about a few minutes before thanks to Jarod's DSA. I'm sure that she's remembering that moment, like him. It's obvious. And then something great happens: she smiles in a pure and genuine way. This scene is perfect. The firs time Miss Parker lets that wall fall down, even if for just a few seconds, so that we can see that little girl coming to the surface. One of the first time she admits to herself - and to us - that she still remembers how much she was connected to Jarod and that she still cares for him...
Nurse: He’s ready now. You know, I admire you, Sydney. For 30 years, he just lies there and yet you’ve never missed a Christmas. Sydney: It’s all I can do. He’s the only family I have. Nurse: What about your son? Sydney: My son? Nurse: Yes, Jarod. Sydney: Jarod was here? Nurse: He stayed just long enough to leave the gift. I don’t know what he said to him but when he placed that in his hand, I swear I thought I saw your brother smile. [1.08 - Not Even A Mouse] You see that twinkle in Sydney's eyes when the nurse mentions that Jarod was there introducing himself as 'Sydney's son'? I love looking at Syd's eyes at that moment, I could get lost inside them. This is such a touching scene, a real father&son moment. As usual, Jarod is not there to see Sydney's reaction, but it's really priceless. Again, a moment of revelation when we realize how much the pretender and his pursuers are deeply connected... This is a real bond of affection, this isn't about business. I think it's about family.
Parker: Hello. Daddy, hello. I was just getting ready. I understand. No. We’ll do it next year. Merry Christmas... [1.08 - Not Even A Mouse] I love this comparison between Jarod being alone but happy because he's finally discovering the meaning of Xmas vs. Parker being alone but feeling terrible because her father - once again - flakes out on her...
Jarod - The Pretender [1.08 - Not Even A Mouse]
DSA: 23rd Dec, ’68 Sydney: Why, Jarod, I thought they’d taken you back to your room. Young Jarod: What are those, Sydney? Sydney: They’re another project I’m working on. Secretary: Your car is ready to take you to the Mount Pleasant home. Sydney: Yes, thank you. Tell them to wait. Young Jarod: You will come back, won't you, Sydney? Sydney: I always come back, Jarod. Don’t I? [1.08 - Not Even A Mouse]
