when the caretaker pays extra attention to prevent any unnecessary additional pain to whumpee, no matter how minor. helping a disoriented whumpee into a car and using a hand to guide their head to keep it from hitting the doorframe. cradling their head to the floor when they collapse so the impact isn't harsh. putting a pillow under an injured limb. helping them hold up a cup so they don't strain themself even if they could technically do it alone. just, when there's already been enough damage, enough pain, enough violence, and they want to do anything they can to put a stop to any more, even if all they can do is such small things.
