Geno knows it’s rude to stare, but he can’t seem to look away from the disaster of Sid licking his lips to collect all the residual stickiness from his skin. Sid bites his lower lip like he knows what he’s doing is wrong, and Geno has tried to comfort him, tried to tell him that it’s not good to deny himself the things he wants in life.
“I just don’t usually give in like this,” Sid says, a blush rising to his cheeks. He has a small smile on his face, self-conscious in the sweetest way. Geno wants to kiss it, feel it curve against his lips. He wonders if that would reassure Sid enough to get him to relax into this, to just enjoy it the way Geno wants him too.
Not that Sid seems to need any more encouragement. He’s so eager to start that his breaths come faster, his eyes wide in anticipation. Even Geno has to lean forward a little, too caught up in the way Sid licks his lips in preparation.

“I don’t even speak Russian,” Sid mutters, throwing more suits and ties into his suitcase. His lips are pressed into the straightest line Sutter has ever seen—a clear sign that Sid is angry. “I thought Harper wasn’t going to do anything about the laws,” he mutters.
“You don’t need to know Russian,” Sutter reminds, “you’re just going to be there to watch the Olympics and make people uncomfortable.”

Baseball tryouts are over by the time Sid transfers to his new high school. His dad is worried about it, but Sid isn't. He's still a freshman and the season hasn't started yet. They have time on their hands but, more importantly, they have an administration that will understand. They learned from their last experience and chose this school off chemistry with the coach. Sid wouldn't be plagued by a resistant coaching staff anymore. He'd have someone who'd defend him if he ran into more jackasses like Phaneuf.
