There’s a widespread misconception that women who are considered conventionally unattractive by men are somehow spared from the male gaze or public sexual harassment. But when a man views women’s existence in the world as fundamentally sexual, a woman he considers ugly isn’t exempt from this. He still views her through the lens of sexual domination, and will use sexual language to demean her. Sometimes he’ll even loudly announce how much he DOESN’T want to fuck her, and this reveals his fundamental frustration at the existence of a woman who isn’t sufficiently sexually appealing to him, and therefore doesn’t fulfill what he assumes to be her purpose for existing.

And this all ties into very dangerous and disturbing assumptions that men’s lechery and harassment somehow validates your beauty as a woman. Misogynist sexual objectification isn’t just shit like a construction worker yelling “nice jugs” at you on the street, it’s an entire worldview with complex consequences for all women in patriarchal societies. And arguing that conventionally “unattractive” women are spared from objectification comes dangerously close to implying that they’re spared from sexual assault and abuse, which is obviously false.
