Okay, but... was Jess or Amelia the "bendy" one? I don't think Sam's been with anyone else long enough to be taught. Either way, that means Sam is healing enough to think about them without being miserable. He can even talk about them normally. And that, my fellow fans, is an excellent sign :)

Dean is Gadreel. I mean, not actually, but: Gadreel was keeper of the garden - a place of purity and innocence. It was his job to keep the most important place safe. Dean, since he was four, has been keeper of Sam - a pure, innocent baby. It was his job to keep the most important person safe. Gadreel failed. He let the serpent in and destroyed the purity of the garden. The garden was over. Dean failed (in his opinion). He let Azazel in and destroyed Sam’s life. Sam was killed. Gadreel was imprisoned for all time for his failure. Dean believes he will go to hell. Taking clues from Gadreel, who’s to say he won’t?
