I just watched this week's episode of Doctor Oddessy and same, Avery. Same.
Is anyone else watching Dr. Odyssey? It's so terrible but like... a trainwreck you can't stop watching. Philippa Soo should be in all the things, and Joshua Jackson can still get it.
I'm watching Doctor Oddessy and their depiction of a transesophogeal echocardiogram is so bad.
First of all they roll up to the patient with a cart and are like "we're doing a TEE on you," not asking for her consent or anything (which there is a small chance of permanently fucking up your esophogus so they always make you sign a thing about it). Then the cute nurse guy is like, "this is going to suck but we have to do it and it's only going to suck for a little while" and then they just like shove it immediately in her mouth without valium or the novocaine spray in the back of her throat or any kind of care.
And then she obviously freaks out and screams and turns over on her side and it's all very Dramatic and a little bit violent, and honestly as someone who's had like four or five of them it's NOT that bad. And if they have the equipment on ship to do a TEE then they should easily have the other two small things to make it easier. It is not bad and it seems silly to scare the audience over something that's not a very big deal?
