none of this is new info, but you know I have the "loves to write lists and compile links" disposition, so I thought it might be helpful to share some of the tips I've seen about how to make sure you're sharing legitimate palestinian evacuation fundraisers and bundle all those tips into a single handy reference post.

this is the process that I personally have been using to check whether a particular fundraiser has been vetted:

every day my friend siraj (#219) travels to central gaza to access wifi so he can come on this platform and beg people for 8 hours to donate to him so he can afford to rent an apartment for his family of 24 that includes 10 children and 2 elders who will undoubtedly suffer from severe illness without access to medical care over the coming winter

israel is doing everything it can to stop palestinians from giving each other medical care right now. just yesterday the world was shocked with the image of israel burning medical patients alive while they were still hooked up to their IVs in the medical tents in the ruins of al aqsa hospital - in central gaza, not far from where siraj spends his days on the internet.

please donate if you can. please share (i know you can). siraj puts himself in danger to appeal to you! the least we could do is make his effort worthwhile.

also to put things into perspective that regardless of who won there is a genocide happening right now on a daily basis and the situation in the israeli government is getting more and more dangerous and no matter who was put in office in america the situation for palestinians is still very real and very deadly so how about you take some of that righteous anger and upset and desire for change and channel it into fighting for a free palestine & helping as many gazans trying to eacape right now. this is not to undermine whatever it is you as a usamerican are feeling as a result of this election, its just me saying that instead of spiralling into despair, do some good and remember this affects more than just you and your country

If Donald trump does win there will be (as there always is) a massive fear mongering uproar from people who have too much money and are too sheltered to understand how life works telling people to leave the country as soon as possible or else they’ll be sent to whatever death camp they’re fantasizing about Donald trump instating the day he gets inaugurated (amazing how the fantasies of dystopian mistreatment are just American citizens being terrified that our government will do to them what they do to non American citizens). This is not going to happen these candidates are extraordinarily similar but also we’ve had republicans in office including Donald trump and democrats aren’t any more ready to protect your rights either but I guarantee you nobody is going to walk in office and send queers to the guillotine it is essential to remain calm and not indulge in fear mongering if he is elected again
