listen i really get why you might be sensitive of shitty representation and transfem caricature but sometimes this spills over into open hostility towards artist depicting trans women as anything but, like, perfectly cis-passing waifs with zero facial and body hair and the shoulder/waist/hip ratio of a comics character. and i think that's bad??? like some of us can't muster the energy to shave every day. some of us have big shoulders and strong jaws and thin hips. it's a sensitive subject and a fine line but frankly i think we should have a little grace.

genuinely my sniff test for "this artist has some Bad Ideas about trans women" is more stuff like, are ALL trans women they draw particularly masculine? do they draw trans women with more prominent "male" features than they do cis men (their femboys pass better than their trans women)? and my personal favorite, they draw a bunch of cis men and cis women and a bunch of transmasc characters but there's a strange gap in their artwork.
