Don’t worry parents, musicians are well know for their deeply felt Christian morals, unlike those pervs in the AV Club.

Hi Friends!!!

day 9/10:
Siri here. A little recap w me I guess. It’s been about two years since I graduated high school. I didn’t go back into school due to being very depressed at the end of senior year. I felt like I needed a break so I gave myself that. Here I am now working part-time at a Dave & Buster’s. Long story short; March 11th I got kicked out of my house. After a very long time of being mentally and verbally abused I had enough of living where I was. I left that house w only three bags of my necessities at the time n my car. I was scared I was going to become homeless. Thankfully, my boyfriend n his family were able to take me in. Now, three months into this new life everything feels so effortless. In the beginning I would constantly get gaslit through texts by my mother but I persevered. I’m coming up on my 20th birthday coming July 14th n I’m excited. I was under the impression I was going to have a nice party w friends. Long story short of this part of THAT story; all my friends are either: busy/have plans already scheduled, made poor excuses or blatantly didn’t even reply to my group message. Right now, I’m reflecting on who truly are my friends. The party’s still going on w my “family” just not my friends though. It’s a long shot but I’ll attach my Amazon wishlist if y’all want to do anything w it. Anyways, yup. I plan on going nav to school this fall hopefully. I figured out I have an interest in becoming a pediatric nurse. Obviously I’m going to try to get back into playing trumpet but that’s where I’m at in life now. I’d like to thank the admins who at least try to keep this account running. I’d also like to thank those of you who still even look at this account.
Thanks so much guys,
Serrine (Siri)
Okay I know that I do not post often on here but my school band needs help raising money, we are trying to raise $100,000 for New Uniforms, New Instruments, and repairs and more. If you would like to just donate to our Miami Viking Band Parents Association you can Cashapp $MVBP. Please click the link below to buy some popcorn and help us out. The seller ID that you need to type in to purchase any popcorn is 700113. Your help is most appreciated thank you for helping keep our band program alive.
Don’t you love it when you walk outside
and the sun isn’t high, but the clouds are
and it’s cold, but not cold, no
just chill and crisp
Don’t you love it when the solar star
blazes down and gives you heat
and it’s bright and painful
but you play and laugh because
it took the time to care
Don’t you love it when it’s raining
and there’s water pouring on your head
or ice or both
but you put on a jacket
and pull up the hood
and get soaked when you look into the sky to see it all come down
and your glasses get fogged and covered in water
and your hair takes forever to dry
Don’t you love it when Earth says
“You’ve had a bad day.
This run isn’t so great.
You need an out.
You need a break.
Here.
Have some weather.”
Don’t you love it when you’re in marching band
and you’re holding a metal instrument
that weighs more the longer you hold it
and it starts pouring down hail as you march
and no one can hear you play
but you do the motions
and you play your song
and half the people have taken off their glasses
so they can see better
and as you finish
the crowd stANDS UP
AND YOU HEAR THE APPLAUSE
and for the rest of your life,
do you ever think
“That was hard. I hated it.
I spent months practicing in the cold.
I carried that instrument every day.
I had to go the next day to march again.
And instead of the world giving us sunshine,
it gives us hail and soaking wet clothes.”
No.
No, you never think that.
“That was hard.
We spent months practicing.
We all hurt so bad after our sessions.
We knew we would march the next day.
And we proved our heckin’ standards,
our kickbutt resolve,
when the sun disappeared for our turn,
and the clouds rushed in,
and we got hailed on.
But we didn’t stop.
We marched, and we played, and we kept going.
And it was worth it. I loved it.
I never want to do that again.”
Evening folks! Resident college Jester here, alive and well somewhat. Just wanted to check up on you all and ask how your school & band life has been during the pandemic. I hope you're all doing okay. I feel like literal death after having a full semester's worth of classes be mostly online- with most of said classes still trying to fit in the work of a normal semester. Either way the year's almost done. Here's to a better 2021. Stay safe and stay sane. <3
I shared this and my ol’ high school music teacher funny reacted to it
violins too lol
Hey all, long time no see.
Apologies for not being on, but this is a new emergency. Basically I fucked up on my tuition and now have an outstanding balance i can't afford to handle myself. And i do not want to bother my grandmother with tuition again after she already helped me so much so far. I know covid has hit everyone hard, but if you could spare anything to help it would be much appreciated.
SAID I WOULDNT DO IT AGAIN BUT I HAVE ANOTHER TUITION EMERGENCY 😭
