Hey y’all I know I’m a total stranger and this is just tumblr, but it’s the only social media I’ve ever been particularly active on and I really need help.

Long story short: I’m very sick, and I might be this way forever. I’ve managed to all but fistfight a get a diagnosis for POTS and EDS, though there are other issues suspected. I have fainting and seizing spells that, in addition to being terrifying, make driving and working impossible.

Basically it’s every American medical story: I have more bills than I’ll ever be able to manage, and no way to deal with them.

I’ve started a GoFundMe to try and deal with the hospital bills I already have, as well as pay for the medicine and mobility aids I need. Please don’t feel any pressure to donate if you can’t, but I would really appreciate it if you did. Every dollar helps and reblogs also go a long way.

This is so fucking funny, apparently “war bad” is liberal propaganda now??? Yes, war IS bad you fucking dipshit.

All Quiet on the Western Front (the original book) was written by a German WWI veteran who was determined to show just how utterly horrifying, disgusting, and senseless the war- and by extension all war- was. The book and its adaptations take great pains to portray the suffering endured by the common soldiers on both sides, who didn’t even really want to fight but were manipulated/forced into it by those in power. The book was even banned in Nazi Germany and the author had to flee the country because the Nazis believed the book was “anti-German” and would hamper their war efforts by showing the German people the real horrors of war.

So in some ways I guess history is repeating itself, more right-wing idiots are hating on this brilliant piece of anti-war media 🙄

my favorite band of brothers behind the scenes tidbit is when they first started filming, all the english boys were putting on these really thick, american regional accents and the people from hbo had to go down there and tell every one to cut it out and use standard american accents because, as damian lewis put it, "it was like people were speaking in tongues."
