i don't actually know what boog this is

adorable beetle bubby. my first thought was some sort of predatory beetle (like tiger beetle adjacent) because of the overall body shape, but now I'm not so sure.

#i'm flumoxed#looked through a site that has a collection of beetles in nfld#nothing matched#if i go for patterning with the shape: the closest are longhorn/tree-eater beetles#but they all have prominent antennae which this bubby doesn't#maybe some sort of stinkbug? clicker beetle? don't know#boogs#buggies#buggie boos#i mean all that said i just realized this might not even be an adult#and could be some instar beforehand#which would make up for appearance discrepencies#bug identification is so wild#might not even be a beetle! fffffff#newfoundland insects#newfoundland beetles#newfoundland arthropods#arthropod photography
