It annoys me unreasonably when you want to ask people "what bird and what mammal would make the worst gryphon" as a fun thought exercise, and people with no joy and no imagination always interpret it as "a gryphon that sucks, is physically impossible, and would hate being alive", and - being predictable and lacking in imagination - always, always answer with "a hummingbird and a blue whale lol".
Like come on. Why do you have to suck the fun out of everything. Why not use a fraction of imagination and delightful whimsy. Imagine the combination of a mouse and a sparrow. That creature would be merciless, burtal, absolutely determined to get into your trash and has the power of both wings and hands to do its will. Or a crow and a cat - that thing is smart enough to fuck with people and not afraid to do it. Imagine the ungodly shriek of the noble fox-seagull, also determined to get into your trash.
A gryphon that is a combination of a kangaroo and a cassowary. The only proof we have of a loving god is the fact that those things do not exist. If hell is real, it's full of them. That thing can't fly, but it will run you down, it will kill you, and you will look stupid the whole entire time you're dying.
Why would the first thing that pops into your mind at the words "the worst gryphon" automatically be "a gryphon that hates being alive". Can you not picture a gryphon that fucking loves being alive, and has both the power and the will to make it everyone else's problem.
A seagull and a giant huntsman spider.
i’ve said it before and i’ll say it again: honestly, charles, no wonder he killed you
zenimax and fake geek boys and even elderscrolls mainstream lore (the games) taking a giant muscley red 4-armed fire demon dude who only apparently seeks to destroy and burn everything, pointing, and being like “god of change.”
dagon should be the tower tarot card. you want him to be associated with natural disasters? great! let’s walk that pier: dagon should be the embodiment of sudden violent unforseen change. but still change, AND CHANGE ISN’T EVIL. it’s not good it’s not evil, dagon should be neutral and not bound by ideas of ‘EVIL DEMON FIRE MAN’. Ambition falls within his sphere, as it falls under attempts for change, and of cOURSE he’d approve that shit, but ambition in and of itself is NOT EVIL. fuck man. i’m so sick of this christianity-laden bullshit.
tldr: mehrunes dagon should only be about change, not evil, not just destruction.
“Lust is love. Lies are truth. Death is life.”
god i hate how these are supposed to be ‘omg opposites’ but lust IS a form of love, goddammit zenimax.
X-Men #11 - “A Busted Hand” (2022)
written by Gerry Duggan art by Pepe Larraz & Marte Gracia
Bad news. The reason Spider-Man got an invite to the Hellfire Gala is because MJ also got one, and she’s been possessed/impersonated by Moira McTaggart, who is now a Sentinel. This will apparently result in them breaking up in the new ASM run.
That sound dumb and I don't believe you.
Uh
What the fuck.
Miora is a fucking robot now? And are they actually gonna have her kill and skin MJ to get into the Hellfire Gala?
HAVE THEY LOST THERE FUCKING MINDS WHAT IS THIS SHIT!?!?!?!?
Actual photo of the editor who made this decision
Seriously though, wtf have they done to Moira?
i thought it was a shitpost.
i thought it was a shitplost to use as a joke to comment on some other marvel bullshit.
oh. oh no.
you cant wear a wittle face mask to stop yourself from killing other people bc you have hot breath?

jean’s dress is weird in the same way a lot of character things in this current era are weird, in that there’s been no real attempt to justify it from a character standpoint and it seems out-of-step with other characters, like scott, having new uniforms created for the era. it becomes openly obvious, in a way i think writers tend to try to avoid, that this was a choice made about a fictional character by real people for reasons that had (as far as we can tell) nothing to do with the character’s inner thoughts or emotions.
all of this.
the decision by the people making the comics to put her in that dress, regardless of character history/situation, also strikes me as extra sketchy, because it feels like an attempt to purify her. to infantalize her. to reduce her back to her marvel girl state (emphasis on girl). it feels fetishistic to me, actually; this obsession with painting jean as ‘pure’ and innocent, and it feels so much like that’s what this is a symptom of as well.
also, in other superhero comics news, i just read through all of the 2017 Mister Miracle series last night and it was actually decent! whaaaaaaaaaat.
like, i really don’t like tom king’s writing, but this comic was actually decent and an improvement on most of the tropes and pitfalls that mark king’s work. It was good surreal horror, Mitch Gerads’ art in it is amazing and gorgeous, showed barda and scott at their best, and just fjasklf;dsa. I really like it ouo
(it’s very disjointed, and while it’s supposed to be, sure, since that’s the point, the reader is supposed to notice something’s wrong with reality, I’m talking in the way king does dialogue and his choices towards character actions and interactions. also, i appreciate the explorations into mental illness and how prevalent it is and how it’s there forever that this comic attempts, but because it’s king, the explorations are surface-level only and just implied rather than explicitly acknowledging anything of substance. like the difference between giving mental illness the understanding, respect, and gravitas it deserves versus looking up symptoms on wikipedia and stopping there. This comic has a lot of potential with its themes, buuuuuuuut doesn’t quite deliver. but i still liked it.)
Yeah, that’s a solution.

tbh im really into the idea that sunlight absorption affects scott’s metabolism/body processes as a whole. e.g. not having to eat as much when it’s sunny, waking up with the sun (assuming he has the shades open), needing more coffee on overcast days, being restless on nights with a full moon.
